~ Fight King meeting Finn and Jake. |
The Fight King is the main antagonist of the Adventure Time episode "Morituri Te Salutamus". He was the master of a cursed arena, where he would force warriors to fight each other to the death,
He was voiced by Dee Bradley Baker.
History[]
Past[]
The Fight King was the ruler of a magical arena for an unspecified amount of time. He would lure friends or partners into the arena and have them fight his gladiator ghosts for his amusement. He'd then have the two partners fight and kill each other for his amusement, resulting in them becoming more gladiator ghosts.
Morituri Te Salutamus[]
Finn and Jake were drawn to the arena by the sound of what appeared to be warriors exclaiming and fighting. Upon entering, they were welcomed by the Fight King, who asked if they desired glory from him. The two of them quickly realized it was a trap and left the arena. However, as they began to fantasize about what they would experience, they returned to the arena, where the Fight King trapped them and had them fight his gladiator ghosts.
After they defeated the ghosts, the Fight King gave them olive branches before keeping them trapped in the arena. He explained that if they wanted to earn their freedom, they had to defeat all of his ghosts. He then sent them to a cavern underground until they were ready to fight again. Jake decided to create a dummy of himself made out of sand, so that Finn could take it with him during the next battle while the real Jake searched for lava. Finn announced that he was ready and was summoned by the Fight King, where he had to fight two more ghosts.
The Fight King declared Finn worthy and imbued him with the power of his sword. The real Jake revealed himself, and the Fight King sent both of them back to the cavern so that they could rest. However, Finn appeared to be getting more violent and obsessed with fighting. Once the Fight King summoned him again, he defeated all of the remaining gladiator ghosts. So, the Fight King told Finn to fight Jake, though he actually summoned the sand version of him. Finn stabbed the false Jake before the real one emerged, and Finn said that he wanted to face him. The Fight King ordered Finn to kill Jake, and he seemingly complied. He then asked for a bigger sword, resulting in the Fight King giving him his own sword. However, it turned out Finn was merely pretending to have gone insane, and he destroyed the Fight King's sword. This caused the king to wither away. After his death, the spirits of the gladiators were freed, and the arena disappeared.
Personality[]
The Fight King is a deceitful and cruel arena master who commonly displays his enjoyment of violence with openness. Notably unique in his cruel methods, he would go well beyond operating his arena in an unorthodox fashion. In regards to his battles, he is remarkably creative in his staking as he intentionally forces familiars rather than randoms to battle for his amusement. Such methods also further detail his cruelty, going as far as forcing loved ones to battle for sole survival, in turn likewise showing his callousness and lack of compassion.
