You died to who you call the Figure... It cannot see, but it will use sounds and vibrations to it's advantage.
~ The Guiding Light about the Figure.
Careful not to make a sound!
~ The "Sshh!" Badge that players get when escaping the Library.

The Figure is the secondary antagonist of the Roblox Horror video game DOORS, appearing as the main antagonist of "The Hotel" and a major antagonist in "The Mines", and it will possibly return in Floor 3. It also serves as the main antagonist of "The Library" in the Roblox game, Tower Heroes.

It is an entity that resides within the complex, initially guarding a library-like section of it.

Appearance[]

The Figure takes the appearance of a towering humanoid entity and takes on almost entirely the color of flesh-red with a slight hint of orange. It possesses a spherical head, lacking any noticeable facial features except for its massive, circular mouth filled with 25 randomly aligned razor-sharp teeth. Going down, figure has a skinny body with a clay-like texture, and multiple bone-like structures around its chest resembling an external ribcage. Sewage-colored tubes can also be vaguely seen around its body, along with cysts on the back of its head, and a scar on the top of its head. The Figure seems to resemble the Demogorgon from Stranger Things and the Sand Worm from Dune, even somewhat resembling a Sea Lamprey's mouth. It has four joints on each of its arms and legs, making the Figure somewhat flexible. Before the Hotel+ update, the Figure could also emit a bioluminescent light or other types of illumination out of its mouth when emitting sounds. Even though it still exhibits this behavior, it is only seen in the jumpscare animation and the electrical room model. This is likely due to a bug.

Biography[]

The Hotel[]

The Library (Door 50)[]

The Figure will initially appear behind a bookcase and run around the corner toward the player(s) in response to the noise caused by the door opening, but a lamp will then collapse, leading The Figure to go to investigate. The Figure will roam throughout the library using its hands to feel its way because it is absolutely blind, but that doesn't mean his hearing is bad as well. In fact, Figure can hear any noise in The Library, and exactly where it happened. If it hears the player (walking while not crouched, walking on debris, etc.) it will begin running toward the player until they are out of its reach or if the player hides. If Figure detects them, a player hiding in a closet will have to play a minigame in which they must time their heartbeats to survive. The player gets two opportunities; failing once results in a warning while failing twice results in Figure dragging the player out of concealment and devouring them. It is recommended that you stay a far distance away from him to avoid the heartbeat game. Unless you're a risky player.

The Electrical Room (Door 100)[]

When the gate is opened, the Figure will appear from a room to the left upstairs before running down the stairs and after the player. After the player hides or loses the Figure, it will start walking around the hallways as the player searches for the 10 fuses on the shelves. Once all the fuses are inserted into the circuit breaker box, a cutscene plays where the Figure walks on a puddle (of probably gasoline) on the floor with an exposed electrical wire touching it. The Figure is set on fire as it touches the electrified elevator.

Door 100+[]

After the player(s) have gotten to the elevator at the end of Door 100, (or failed, getting killed by Figure), the elevator will begin to descend. In an attempt to attack the source of the noise, Figure will drop down on top of the elevator, and snap one of the cables keeping the elevator going down smoothly. Afterwards, the Figure falls back into a mineshaft, and the elevator will begin to plummet rapidly, dropping the player off in the Mines.

The Mines[]

The Figure is relegated more to "normal recurring entity status" here compared to Seek.

The Chasm[]

The Figure drops down from the ceiling in the Chasm, an open area with two bridges running across it. Players will simply have to get out of the room past Figure to survive.

Post-Chasm[]

This is pretty much the same as the Chasm encounters, but how the Figure arrives & what you need to get to the next room are what changes:

  • Encounter #2: The Figure will drop down across from you, & you will need to simply maneuver around it to access the exit door. Be careful, as it could be one of Dupe's rooms.
  • Encounter #3: The Figure will drop down on the left side of a split room, & the room requires two fuses to be put in a generator in order to exit.

Other Media[]

Tower Heroes[]

The Figure appears as the main antagonist of the Doors x Tower Heroes crossover event. During a storm, the Figure breaks into the lobby and through the floor. Kart Kid and Wizard investigate, hoping to find Chef and the others. After the player repairs the 4 generators and avoids Figure, Wizard and Kart Kid escape and find Chef's frying pan left behind. Wizard determines that Chef and the others already investigated deeper. Wizard and Kart Kid decide to find a way to lure the Figure out of the lobby.

Meanwhile, Chef, Scientist and Soda Pop investigate the Library and find El Goblino being chased by Screech and save him. The four protect Jeff's safehouse door from the entities while Goblino's friend, Bob fixes the door. The noise caused by the battle attracts the Figure. The heroes use a crucifix to immobilize the Figure and give them enough time to escape.

Outside of the event, the Figure appears as the main boss of the Library in Challenge mode and the Doors theme in Adventure mode (if Void is not activated).

Trivia[]

  • The Figure was originally going to be created a few years ago for a scrapped Roblox game by the developers.
  • Figure's head is based on Dune's sand worms.
  • The Figure's speed will increase the more books the player collects. At first it will be slower and easy to outrun. However, after 2 books are collected, the Figure will be faster than the player.
  • Being too close to the Figure will alert it, regardless of sound.
  • The Figure follows a path that is very similar each round. However, there is a chance it will stray away from said path, so do not rely on this too much.
  • Walking will alert the Figure. However, there is a way to outdo this in the balcony.
  • The Figure's official theme is called "Unhinged". After the Hotel+ Update was released, they were given a second theme called "Unhinged II".
  • Figure and Seek are the only two entities that alter the player's corpse upon death, with said corpse being decapitated.
  • The Figure's revamped animations were done by jasper_creations, who helped LSPLASH with the animations for both Seek and the ending.
  • The Badge that players get when escaping the Library is reference to We Are Number One, a song by Lazy Town.
  • The Figure may not be a demon like most of the other Entities, as its shown to not be affected by the crucifix at all, only being stopped by it due to the extreme amount of noise the crucifix makes. This means it could possibly be a homunculus, a humanoid amalgamation of flesh & bone that was supposed to be a human, given the humanoid appearance & composition including flesh, bone, & teeth.
  • There is a glitch in the library where Figure is capable of getting stuck,
  • The Figure's growl was originally from Scylla but was pitched differently.
  • It is one of the three entities that can escape the Crucifix, the other entity being Seek and Grumbles. Seek is one of the three entities being able to escape the Crucifix, the other being Figure and Grumbles. Lore-wise this seems to be because they are the strongest and smartest of the entities and mechanics-wise this seems to happen to justify their rematches later on in the Game. This appears to happen because Seek overpowers the crucifix, and Figure is not a Demon, and Grumbles Simply being too big to be crucified.
  • During the 2023 April Fools Event, Figure's texture was changed to that of a Roblox Noob.
    • Also, using the Holy Hand Grenade on Figure will kill them instantly. The door to the Library will also not close since Figure can't chase the player(s) if they're killed by the grenade.
    • When killed by the Holy Hand Grenade, It will play the "Oh My Gawd meme"
