Well, Hare. Well, watch out! (rus. Ну, Заяц. Ну погоди!)
~ Wolf's famous line.

The Wolf, commonly transliterated into English as Volk (Russian: Волк), is the main antagonist of the Russian cartoon series Nu Pogodi. He is a wolf who tries to catch and presumably eat the Hare.

He was voiced by the late Anatoli Papanov and also he has voiced by Igor Khristenko.

Appearance[]

The Wolf is an anthropomorphic gray wolf with messy black hair. His default attire includes a bowler hat, a pink shirt and black trousers. He changes his clothes regularly, depending on the situation.

Personality[]

The Wolf is initially portrayed as a hooligan who likes to break laws, vandalize and smoke. He is obsessed with catching the Hare, no matter the cost. Later on however, the Wolf becomes more cartoonish and adopts more cowardly attributes in contrast to his original portrayal.

The Wolf is very rude and likes to provoke others, even when he shouldn't have, getting himself in a lot of troubles. Even his schemes to catch the Hare are also most of the time fail because the Hare manages to trick him. However, he also demonstrates many uncanny abilities on many occasions trying to catch the Hare, such as figure skating, ballet and waltzing. He can also play the guitar very well and ride the powerful rocker motorbike.

For all his obsession to catch the Hare, the Wolf won't hesitate to work with the latter at times if the situation requires it. However, he would always immediately go back to antagonize the Hare afterwards, despite the latter's desire to settle a peace between them. The Wolf is also ungrateful, as whenever the Hare tries to save him, he responds with yet another attempt to eat the latter.
