~ Hector's most famous quote after killing a slave and coercing others to continue their mine work for The Sangs.

Hector is the secondary antagonist in the 2012 action film The Expendables 2. He is a high-ranking member and the second-in-command of a terroristic mercenary faction known as The Sangs, as well as the right-hand man of their leader Jean Vilain.

He was portrayed by Scott Adkins, who also played Weapon XI in X-Men Origins: Wolverine, King Amphitryon in The Legend of Hercules, Tom Cat in Wolf Warrior, Lucian in Doctor Strange, Barton Geddes in Ip Man 4: The Finale, and Killa in John Wick: Chapter 4.

Biography[]

Hector is a skilled martial artist who grew up to become a dangerous mercenary and war criminal; soon enough he became affiliated with an infamous terrorist organization known as The Sangs, ultimately becoming their second-in-command as well as the right-hand man and personal subordinate of his infamous leader: Jean Vilain.

Sometime later, the Sangs came into conflict with an elite mercenary group called The Expendables when both parties crossed paths in Albania - as the Expendables had travelled there to recover a special computer system with the location of five tons of plutonium. Hector helps Vilain and the Sangs capture Billy "The Kid" Timmons, a young sniper working with the Expendables, and demands that the Expendables hand over the computer in exchange for Billy's life. Even after they retrieve the item, Hector holds a knife in front of Billy while Vilain roundhouse kicks it into his heart, killing him. Thereafter Hector, along with his boss and the other Sangs, depart in a helicopter.

Afterwards, Hector joins Vilain and the rest of the Sangs in travelling to their hideout; an abandoned mine housing the hidden plutonium, where many inhabitants from the local villages are being forced to work. When an elderly worker claims he is tired, Hector shoots him dead and forces the other workers to continue working. Later on, two more slave workers extract the last plutonium; once Hector learns about this, he promptly executes the two before informing Vilain about it. They later flee with the plutonium and order the Sangs' extraction forces to execute all the remaining workers, but the Expendables arrive soon afterwards and rescue the workers by killing the Sangs' extraction forces.

It is then Hector, along with Vilain and the rest of the Sangs, attempt to make their escape by fleeing at an airport. However, they are ambushed by the Expendanles and a climatic gunfight ensues between the two parties. With the Sangs losing badly as many of their forces are dispatched in the ensuing battle, Hector is ordered by Vilain to get their getaway helicopter ready for their escape route. Hector does so and leads the remaining Sangs to their plane while Vilain stays behind to confront the Expendables' leader Barney Ross, who had personally sought to avenge Billy's death by killing Vilain himself. Once Hector reaches the helicopter, however, Ross' best-friend and right-hand man Lee Christmas arrives to stop them; Hector orders his men to kill him, but they fail after Lee quickly kills each of them in combat.

Left with no other choice, Hector gets out of the helicopter as it begins to start and attacks Lee by engaging in a hand-to-hand combat with him. The two fight for a while in which Hector brandishes his knife and gets the upper hand against Lee to the point of shoving him close to the helicopter's rotor blades, nearly finishing him off in the process. Unfortunately, Lee outmanuvers Hector and dismarms him. Lee then proceeds to pummel Hector repeatedly before ultimately punching him right into the helicopter's rotor blades, shredded Hector and killing him in the end.

Shortly after Hector's death, Vilain himself would be killed by Ross in their final showdown - henceforth wiping out the Sangs as a result
