Emil Muzz is the secondary antagonist of the 1987 film Dragnet. He is a member of P.A.G.A.N. and the right-hand to Jonathan Whirley. He works undercover as a Jerry Caesar's limousine driver and several other roles in order to terrorize Los Angeles.
He was portrayed by Jack O'Halloran.
Biography[]
Emil Muzz has been a P.A.G.A.N. member for a long time and entrusted by its leader, Jonathan Whirley. In order to work undercover, he works at various roles, one of which being Jerry Caesar's limousine driver.
At the beginning of the film, Muzz commits a series of bizarre thefts to prepare for P.A.G.A.N.'s sacrificial ceremony. He is then chased and eventually arrested by Joe Friday and Pep Streebek, who interrogate him. He reveals to them the time and place of the ceremony. Muzz's attorney later gets him out on bail, and he joins the ceremony. Like the other P.A.G.A.N. members, he panics when Friday and Streebek are trying to escape with Connie. Throughout the film, he and his fellow P.A.G.A.N. members commit various atrocities, and he always leaves the P.A.G.A.N. card behind afterwards.
After Friday is taken off duty, he takes Connie home. There they are kidnapped by Muzz, who takes them to the Griffith Observatory, where Whirley reveals that he's planning to kill Caesar at a reunion party for the models of the latter's magazine Bait. Whirley then has Connie taken to his private jet and prepares to kill Friday, only to be interrupted by Streebek, who had forced Muzz to reveal Friday's whereabouts at gunpoint. Streebek rescues Friday, inflitrates Caesar's mansion and disrupt P.A.G.A.N.'s plans, but Whirley sets the stolen magazines on fire to cover his escape. Streebek personally arrests Muzz while Friday is reinstated so he can arrest Whirley.
