Nightmare Bonnie is a supporting antagonist in the Five Nights at Freddy's franchise. He is the nightmare form of Bonnie created by William Afton to torment children for the latter's experiments, as revealed in Dittophobia.
Appearance[]
Nightmare Bonnie's form has been massively changed. He seems completely damaged like his appearance in Five Nights at Freddy's 2, with a more vicious look. He has a purple glow on his right eye. His jaw is huge and filled with many sharp teeth. His finger also ends with sharp claws. Additionally, he has wiry whiskers on his snout, giving him more resemblance to an actual rabbit.
Biography[]
Five Nights at Freddy's 4[]
His role parallels that of Nightmare Chica, coming in from the west hall of the house. Unlike Chica, however, upon entering the room to attack, he himself attacks the protagonist. He is also the more frequent attacker out of the two. The player has to hold the left door shut to prevent him from getting in. If the player flashes the light at him when he is standing right outside the door, he will attack him, and if he turns his back on the door to look at the bed, he will enter the room and attack. The only way to tell he is at the door is to listen for his breathing. Holding the door will cause him to walk away, being unable to enter.
Five Nights at Freddy's: Ultimate Custom Night[]
Nightmare Bonnie appears in the game Ultimate Custom Night. He will appear at a random time in the Right Hall and the only way to defend against him is to purchase a Bonnie Plushie from the Prize Corner using Faz-Coins. The higher his customizable A.I is, the more expensive the plushie is.

Curse of Dreadbear[]
Nightmare Bonnie appears as an enemy in the minigame Hallway Crawl. He can come out of any left door and he will kill the player if he's right before him.
Dittophobia[]
Rory, a seven year old child, is haunted by the nightmare animatronics in Obsv. 2 (the house seen in Five Nights at Freddy's 4). Rory is forced to deal with the nightmare animatronics similarly to the FNaF 4 protagonist, the nightmare coming to an abrupt halt when Nightmare Freddy attacks the boy.
Eventually, however, Rory learns that, along with the house he resided in being rotted and worn down, that the nightmare animatronics were simply plastic mannequins in costumes, the hallucinatory gas being the cause of their more grisly appearance. It's also revealed that the Nightmares were actually tests performed on children, used to study the child's fear (presumably being caused by William Afton).
Later, after being manipulated by a middle-aged voice into staying where he is, Rory ends up repairing the gas tanks and plugging back in the dispenser. In an instant, he forgets everything and gets ready for bed, presumably allowing the nightmare experiment to continue.

Trivia[]
- Oddly enough, Nightmare Bonnie has five fingers, even though the original Bonnie has four. Some speculated him to be wearable, however, this was not the case.
- Nightmare Bonnie was the animatronic that served as the trailer's jumpscare, even though Nightmare Fredbear was the main antagonist, and Nightmare Freddy is the titular character of the game.
- Thus might have been a reference to how Scott Cawthon, the creator of the games often had nightmares of Bonnie trying to break into his room.
