Principal Henry "Hank" Pankley is the main antagonist of the 2005 Christmas special, The Legend of Frosty the Snowman, which was based on the classic Rankin Bass adaptations from 1969 and 1976.
He was voiced by Larry Miller, who also portrayed Louis Seagram in the 1998 remake of Carnival of Souls, John in Tomb Raider III: Adventures of Lara Croft, Pointy-Haired Boss in Dilbert and Principal Elliot T. Jindraike in Max Keeble's Big Move.
Biography[]
Principal Pankley is the highly corrupt principal of Evergreen Elementary School who is very cruel towards the students and teachers alike under his "care". He was even cruel towards the town's mayor Theodore Tinkerton, who at one point outranked him. He also abuses his power and replaces Theodore as mayor. He makes it the law for children to have no imagination or belief in Frosty the Snowman. He even bans Frosty the Snowman to ever be mentioned. Theodore's son Tommy later reads in a comic book that his Principal Pankley stole the hat of Theodore's father and locked it away in a chest in the library all because he was jealous back when they were kids. At the end of the film, Theodore, finally realizing what an evil liar Pankley truly is, furiously cuts ties with him and reinstates himself as mayor. Principal Pankley is last seen running away from a massive snowball fight and falls in freezing cold water. After his evil plot was exposed and foiled, it can be implied that he was hauled off to prison and was permanently removed from his position as the principal of Evergreen Elementary School for his cruel actions. Afterwards, Theodore regains his believing in magic and removes all the rules and curfews from the town.
Personality[]
Principal Pankley has no imagination, is miserable, and wants everyone, child or adult, to be just like him. At one point, he only pretended to be nice to Walter Wader and set up a meeting by the frozen pond, only to ambush Frosty the Snowman skating on thin ice. He was very unsympathetic towards Walter who was depressed.

- Pankley's voice actor Larry Miller portrayed Elliot T. Jindraike (the main antagonist of Max Keeble's Big Move), who is also a cruel principal. However, Pankley is much more evil and meaner than Jindraike.
- Unlike the other main antagonists in the Frosty franchise, Pankley is one of two villains who never redeems himself, the other being Winterbolt (from Rudolph and Frosty's Christmas in July).
- Pankley is similar to Principal Ken Dwight as both are corrupt principals who make unlawful rules and are cruel to the main protagonists.
- Pankley's appearance is very similar to Clyde Northcutt (the main antagonist of Fred Claus). However, Northcutt's collar shirt is white instead of light blue.
