Cumber, also known as the "Evil Saiyan", is an antagonist from the Super Dragon Ball Heroes series. He is a powerful and ancient Saiyan that Fu managed to pull from his timeline and imprison him on the Prison Planet. He is the secondary antagonist of the Prison Planet Saga and a major antagonist in the Universal Conflict Saga. He is an antagonist in the New Space-Time War Saga and later in the saga eventually becoming an ally of Goku and Vegeta.
He was voiced by Rikiya Koyama.
Personality[]
Like most Saiyans, Cumber has a lust to battle strong opponents. However like Broly, it's on a more extreme and brutal level. He also has a violent reaction to anyone who has the Super Saiyan God form.
Appearance[]
Cumber is a very tall Saiyan with height the same as Broly's. He has long, black, spikey hair that extends to his waste. Red-irises and a Saiyan tail. He wears a mask over his mouth and has a white straight-jacket on most of the time. When freed from his restraints, he wears blue baggy pants and a sleeveless red shirt.
History[]
Background[]
Cumber's past remains unknown, however it's possible that Cumber has some history with the Original Super Saiyan God (due to his violent reaction to Goku's Super Saiyan God form and recognizing it). Some time later, Cumber was pulled out of his time by Fu and imprisoned on the Prison Planet.
Prison Planet Saga[]
Cumber soon managed to break free from his prison cell and makes a bee line to where Goku and Vegeta are. Upon arriving, he immediately attacks the duo with his dark energy. Goku attempts to punch Cumber but is then corrupted by the Evil Saiyan's energy, going berserk in the process. Berserk Goku then turns on Vegeta, attacking the Saiyan prince savagely. Soon after, Future Trunks and Cooler arrive to help out. Cooler then ascends to his Golden form and attacks Cumber with a powerful Supernova attack. However, the attack has little effect on Cumber and with it finally manages to break out of his straight-jacket, gaining a major power boost. Goku and Vegeta soon fuse into Vegito in order to combat Cumber. Cumber then battles Vegito Blue, managing to back Vegito into a corner. Forcing Vegito to activate the Super Saiyan Blue Kaio-Ken. Cumber then unleashes a powerful energy sphere attack at Vegito whom in turn countered the energy sphere with his Final Kamehameha resulting in a beam struggle. Vegito's attack manages to come on top however Cumber deflects the attack with little effort. Cumber then launches a power ball into the air, transforming into a Golden Great Ape. He soon shoots a mouth beam at Vegito causing him to defuse back to Goku and Vegeta. The Saiyan duo face Great Ape Cumber in battle.
Universal Conflict Saga[]
In the manga, following the incident on the Prison Planet, the injured Cumber is picked up by the other Core Area Warriors. Using her Glassification, Rags restores Cumber
In the anime, Cumber heads to Universe 11 where he faces and defeats the leader of the Pride Troopers, Top, in battle, then prepares to face the mighty Jiren. The two have a brief skirmish, prompting Cumber to admit that they are equal, though he states he will not lose, transforming into a Super Saiyan 3 Full Power, only to be outmatched. He attempts to continue his battle with Jiren, only for it to be cut short by the arrival of Hearts, who commands Oren to face Jiren instead. Cumber is angered by the intervention but Hearts believes that he has done enough, and with a snap of his fingers, teleports him against his will to Universe 3.
In the manga, the restored Cumber is sent to Universe 11 where he battles the Pride Troopers Top and Dyspo. Using his Super Saiyan 3 form, Cumber gains the edge over his two foes, forcing Top to use his Destroyer Form. Both he and Top are eventually taken down in a single strike when Kamioren appears and swats the two. After Kamioren's defeat by Jiren, the heavily injured and exhausted Cumber then staggers to his feet, meekly demanding Jiren fight him, only to be taken away by a Time-Space Portal against his will.
In the anime, while in Universe 3, Cumber inadvertently saves Rags from Meta-Cooler, transforming into a Super Saiyan 3. The battle proves to be evenly matched at first, with Cumber mocking Cooler for turning himself into a machine. Cooler, however, informs him that he has acquired a new power, before powering up and gaining the edge in the battle. Cooler transforms into Golden Meta-Cooler, rendering Cumber's attacks ineffective, and he is then overpowered. Cooler launches three Supernovas at Cumber, but overheats and is forced to retreat. However, Cumber is gravely damaged, and though he is able to survive, he soon collapses and falls unconscious.
Universe Creation Saga[]
In the anime, Cumber appears having been re-captured by Fu, wearing his power-sealing straitjacket once more and inside a tank which drains his dark ki for usage by Fu. When Hearts looks at his tank, Cumber shoots him a look.
New Space-Time War Saga[]
Cumber reappears, now in the New Space-Time and freed from his siphoning tank. In the manga he is shown in his Super Saiyan 3 Full Power taking on Vegeta, with Turles also present, all fighters badly damaged. In the anime he is shown in his base form about to take on Vegeta, with Turles also present.
The three-way fight sees Super Saiyan 3 Full Power Cumber fighting Turles with relative ease, both users matching each other with their Evil Auras. When Vegeta is also inflicted, but overcomes the dark essence and controls Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan (Berserk), Cumber finds himself outmatched. After taking a destructive Galick Gun from the Saiyan prince, causing his mask to shatter, he expresses his amazement at Vegeta's ability to turn the Evil Aura into his own power, referring to him as a comrade before falling unconscious with a smile.
His unconscious body is later saved from the destruction of the pseudo Planet Vegeta by Hearts when they are teleported off the planet by Cell.
Later Cumber arrives in West City where he uses the Super Saiyan 3 Full Power transformation - though without the Evil Aura - when he initiates a fight with the King of Destruction Omega Shenron when the Crimson-Masked Saiyan summons him from a corrupted Scroll of Eternity. He is joined by Super Hearts, and the two battle Omega. However their enemy disappears upon Crimson's defeat at the hands of Gogeta.
Upon leaving the false universe and reaching the universal tree Goku, Vegeta, Xeno Goku and Xeno Vegeta meet Dark Fu. While Dark Fu explained to Goku, Vegeta, Xeno Goku and Xeno Vegeta how he fled with the Dogidogi bird, Broly appears and upon seeing Goku, an enraged Broly launches an attack but Cumber and Hearts stop their attack.
Eventually, Cumber holds off Broly at Hearts command in order to buy Xeno Goku, Xeno Vegeta, Goku, and Vegeta enough time to confront Dark Fu. At the end of the episode Goku asks about Cumber and Hearts tells him that Cumber and Broly disappeared in the universal tree, leaving unknown who won the fight and where Cumber and Broly ended up fighting.

Powers and Abilities[]
Cumber is one of the most powerful warriors in Universe 7. Able to unleash massive amounts of dark energy to his opponents. He's also able to corrupt other beings into being evil with his dark energy, however the effects are temporary (as seen with Goku). He can take Golden Cooler's Supernova point blank range and come out un-fazed. He can fight on par (and\or overwhelm) with Super Saiyan God's, Blue's and 4's.
Cumber is extremely powerful. His base form was able to contend with Vegito in his SSB state while using the base Kaio-Ken and easily defeat Toppo.
Like most Saiyans, he can also transform into the Great Ape form (or Golden Great Ape in his case). He can also use Super Saiyan and Super Saiyan 3. As a Super Saiyan, his power increases 50 fold from base. As a Super Saiyan 3, he is 400 times as strong as his base state. As a Golden Great Ape, he is 500 times as strong as his base state. In his Golden Great Ape form, he would be the most powerful being in existence outside of the Omni King Zeno and the angels. He can also create a Power Ball to transform into a Golden Great Ape without a moon, and he can control himself in that state, much like Vegeta.
Trivia[]
- Like other Saiyans, Cunber's name is a pun on a vegetable, in this case cucumber. While botanically speaking cucumbers are a fruit, they are classified as a culinary vegetable, similar to tomatoes.
- Cunber shares a few traits with Broly and his Xeno counterpart:
- Towering height with a massive muscular built (in all of the Super Saiyan forms where Broly has blanked out eyes for him).
- Unique energy capacities compared to other Saiyans.
- Abnormally high power level in base form compared to transformed Saiyans.
- A uniquely colored Great Ape form (orange for Cunber and green for Broly).
- A savage lust for violence and fighting.
- Inhuman levels of resilience against enemy attacks.
- Having restraints (Cumber's straightjacket/mask and Broly's rings).
- Have a deep hatred for someone (the Super Saiyan Gods for Cunber and Goku and Vegeta for Xeno Broly).
- Blanked-eyes and enlarged muscles after reaching their highest Super Saiyan form (Super Saiyan 3 Full Power for Cunber and Super Full Power Saiyan 4 Limit Breaker for Xeno Broly)
