Villain Overview

Desast was a member of the Megiddo and a supporting antagonist (and later an anti-villain) in Kamen Rider Saber. He was a chimera Megid whom is a hybrid of all three Megid classes.

After Bacht's demise, Desast claims his sword in order to become the second Kamen Rider Falchion.

He was voiced by Koki Uchiyama who also voiced Tomura Shigaraki in My Hero Academia, Rui in Kimetsu no Yaiba, Shirou Kotomine & Tristan in Fate series, and Marionette Shadow in Ressha Sentai ToQger.

Biography[]

Past[]

Desast was originally an experimental Megid created by Storious from fusing together the three Megid classes - Story, Phantom Beast and Animal - resulting in a Megid monster that was a chimera of all three Megid types.

Sword of Logos Saga[]

Desast was one of the Megid who fought against the Sword of Logos. 15 years before the present day, Desast took part in a massive attack by the Megid against the Sword of Logos. During the battle, Desast took on both Kyoichiro Shinsen, the previous Espada, and Amane Kagami, the previous Kenzan, and slayed both of them. He then fought Kamen Rider Buster and was sealed away by him.

Release[]

15 years later, Desast was unsealed by Kamen Rider Calibur to assist the Megid in their present goals. He intervened in the fight between the Sword of Logos and the Hanzaki Megid to stop the Riders from destroying Megid, where he fought Ryo Ogami / Kamen Rider Buster once more. While the two were fighting, the Hanzaki Megid was destroyed by the Riders and Desast took his leave shortly after.

After Calibur was defeated by Saber, Desast stabbed the defeated Rider from behind and killed him, not wanting to serve under him any longer, and snatched up Kurayami along with the Jaou Dragon Wonder Ride Book before exiting the scene shortly thereafter.

Desast would go on to desert the Megid, not being interested in their goals and desiring only to fight and have his fun. He intervened during the fight between the Riders and Legeiel and Ousama Megid before exiting shortly after proclaiming he was no longer with the Megid.

Kamen Rider Saber x Ghost[]

While roaming around, Desast found Kanon Fukami, who had been brainwashed by followers of Danton, searching for her brother. Desast stopped her and told her he could be her new brother, but Kanon refused and kept searching. As Desast continued to harass Kanon, Touma and Mei arrived to stop him.

Touma transformed into Kamen Rider Saber to fight him, but Desast was able to hold his own against the Rider. After fighting off Saber, Desast went over to Kanon again, only to be sent flying by a punch from her. As Kanon left to go find her brother, Saber and Desast went after her, and ended up running into Takeru Tenkuji and Jabel. Jabel attempted to reason with Desast, saying as someone who had spent time in an artificial body he knew what it was like, and offered him a rice dumpling, but Desast didn't care and punched him in the nose.

It was at that time that a Gamma Superior arrived and teamed up with Desast to fight the two Riders. While the Gamma Superior battled Saber, Desast fought Takeru only to be defeated and driven off by him.

Following Kenzan[]

He later showed up again to observe the fight between the Sword of Logos Riders and the third Kamen Rider Calibur, quickly detecting that the Calibur was a different user than the second one and was Kento Fukamiya. After the fight ended with Calibur sealing Kenzan's sword, Desast departed from the scene.

Desast would later start following Ren Akamichi after taking an interest in the young swordsman. As the two stopped under a bridge, they were approached by Reika Shindai, who sought to claim Ren's blade. Reika fought and defeated both of them, destroying Desast when he attempted to shield Ren. After Rintaro appeared and drove her off, Desast reformed and continued following Ren.

Becoming New Falchion[]

After Bacht’s demise, and Touma gains a secondary Seiken Haohken to transform into Xross Saber, Desast stealthily took Bacht’s Mumeiken Kyomu.

As Storious examined the Alter Ride Books of each of the Megid in his lair, Desast appeared behind him and took note of Storious' change in wardrobe, asking him what he was really planning. Storious simply answered that it was time for him to write an ending to the tale. The two then ventured out outside the lair, where Storious revealed to Desast he intended to claim his book next. Desast refused to hand his book over, saying he still hadn't had enough fun yet, and pulled out the Mumeiken Kyomu to transform into Kamen Rider Falchion as Storious assumed his Megid form to fight him. The two battled on even footing at first, until Storious summoned the Charybdis Megid to assist him. The Charybdis Megid bit off half off Desast's body, damaging his core Book and leading Desast to retreat to recuperate. Before he departed, Desast threw the Mumeiken Kyomu at the Charybdis to destroy it, but it regenerated into the Hercules Charybdis after Desast exited. Following his exit, Desast went to meet up with Ren.

Desast would train with Ren some more, only to become disappointed with him after he knocked him out of his transformation rather easily. The two then took a break to eat ramen, but Desast soon noticed Ren wasn't eating the red ginger with his ramen. Desast asked Ren why he had left the red ginger out, to which Ren answered it was too spicy. Desast said the red ginger was what made the ramen good, and expressed disappointment that Ren wasn't trying it because it was too spicy for him, telling him that his attitude towards it was the reason he couldn't get stronger. Desast then departed from Ren and went to intervene in the confrontation between Touma and Storious, attacking Touma. Storious asked Touma to eliminate Desast and proclaimed that he was unnecessary for his story, mocking Desast by saying he had created him on a whim and that he had no purpose in life. Touma hesitated to fight Desast, but after Desast attacked him Touma became Xross Saber and prepared for battle. Touma managed to wound Desast, but after seeing he could not fully regenerate Touma decided to spare him and stopped attacking. Desast then took the opportunity to return to Ren, and force him to kill the former in warrior's death.

As Desast knew that he is dying, he revert to a now Alter Ride Book state, and alongside Mumeiken Kyomu fell under Ren's care. Ren later uses both Desast's book and Mumeiken Kyomu to destroy Lords of Wise, Spartan until the book finally fades from its last use, and Desast finally dies in peace.

Other Appearances[]

Desast Instagram 2-5 1

After disappearing from the show following episode 20, Desast will occasionally take over the Kamen Rider Saber official Instagram account to leave posts of himself showing his travels and what he's doing in between episodes of the show.

In his posts, Desast is usually seen visiting various local prefectures or other places, often striking a comedic pose or casually relaxing in the photos he takes of himself.

He has continued to make several more posts, even after returning to the show in episode 28, showing the places he is traveling to off camera.

Trivia[]

  • Desast is the first Reiwa Rider who has a Kaijin form, a tradition which is shown in most Heisei Rider series.
    • However, the way how Desast transform into a Rider while in a Kaijin form is commonly shown used by Imagin Riders from Den-O than from the rest of few Heisei Riders series, as the Imagins has no human disguises.
