Kuroka Toujou is an antagonist turned anti-hero from the light novel Highschool DxD and its anime adaptation. She is a member of Vali Team and is the older sister of Koneko Toujou (Shirone).
She was voiced by Minami Takahashi in the Japanese version, and by Lydia McKay in the English dubbed version.
Apperance[]
Kuroka is a beautiful young woman with a voluptuous figure, long black hair with split bangs, and hazel-gold eyes with cat-like pupils
Her attire consists of a black kimono, a yellow obi, a set of golden beads, and an ornately detailed headband. The kimono features a red interior and it is open at her shoulders, giving view to her large breasts.
Personality[]
Initially, Kuroka gave off the impression of being a malicious and power hungry individual that had been corrupted by her Nekomata Powers; She dedicated herself to this role, proclaiming that she would kill Issei and Rias if they didn’t hand over Koneko to her. She even went as far as poison Rias and Koneko to force them to comply with her demands
However, this was revealed to be little more than a facade; In most cases, Kuroka is playful and mischievous, gaining joy from teasing others. She is aware of her beauty and often uses it to her advantage to get what she wants. She is noted to be incredibly lustful and wants nothing more to have sex with Issei and have his children; In fact, when Issei temporarily lost his perversion, she felt saddened.
In spite of her demeanor, Kuroka is a very kind and caring woman, wanting her and her sister to live in peace, becoming a Pseudo Parent to her and reincarnating as Devils to live in comfort. Upon learning the truth of their master, Kuroka killed him and was willing to play the part of a “Villain” to protect Koneko, even if it meant her sister would hate her.
Kuroka is often described to be lazy and freeloading, typically napping when off duty, eating any food she sees and playing video games rather than assisting in housework in the Hyoudou Mansion. When Issei confronted her on this, she offered her body to him as compensation, much to his arousal.
History[]
Kuroka is the older sister of Koneko (then known as Shirone) who was born to a Nekoshou called Fujimaiand a human researcher. After losing her parents, she and her sister were later taken in by an unnamed Devil from the branch family of the House of Naberius, and she was reincarnated as the Devil's Bishop using up two Evil Pieces. While serving her master, she became extremely talented in Senjutsu and Youjutsu, and her magical power as a Bishop became so great that she surpassed her own master in terms of magical power alone. This later became her undoing when she later became a Stray Devil after killing her master, with everyone assuming that she was drunk with her own power. The true reason for the killing was to protect her sister Shirone from her master, who attempted to conduct unethical tests on her in his research on creating a Super Devil. This resulted in her sister's near-execution and depression, as well as the reason why she refuses to use Senjutsu and Youjutsu. Following the incident, Kuroka became one of the Underworld's most wanted criminals, ranking at SS-Class. At some point before the series, she joined the Khaos Brigade along with the rest of the Vali Team.

- After reconciling with her sister, she took on her surname becoming "Kuroka Toujou”"
- Despite that, she also expressed the desire of taking on the Hyoudou name
- Kuroka is revealed to not have anything underneath her Kimono
- It’s implied she is at least 20 or over 20 years old as there empty alcohol bottles in her room (the drinking age in Japan is 20 years old).
