You can't imagine how i wanted to shed that horrible, useless skin after what you'd done to it. It was vulnerable and weak. And what strength it did have, you

took from it. You assaulted my flesh and threw it aside and made billions after doing so. I knew my body meant nothing to you-- or to most people-- if it wasn't a perfect reflection of your fantasies of what it should be... but it was mine. And the choices i made with it were mine to make.

~ Lena Luthor
Lex! Don't you dare put me away again. Don't you dare! LEX! I swear by the gods who gave me this power i will return--- and i wil DESTROY you!
~ Lena Luthor

Lena Luthor is Lex Luthor's younger sister, who became the supervillain known as Ultrawoman after merging with one of Lex's Warsuits. She was created by Jerry Siegel and Kurt Schaffenberger, first appearing in Superman's Girl Friend, Lois Lane #23 as Lena Thorul-Colby. She is also the daughter of Leticia and Lionel Luthor.

Biography[]

Earth-One[]

In the Pre-Crisis continuity, the Luthor family changed their last name to "Thorul" after Lex began his criminal career. Lena is Lex's younger sister. However, she never knew she had an older brother. This version of Lena also gained telepathic abilities after touching a space brain, but lost her powers after a brain surgery. After metting her brother, they eventually reconcilied. She later married a man named Jeff Colby, with whom she had a son named Val.

New Earth[]

After the Crisis on Infinite Earths reboot, Lena became paralyzed. This version of Lena also grew up alongside Lex in Smallville, Kansas, and she later had a daughter named Lori.

Prime Earth[]

In the Post-Flashpoint continuity, Lena first appeared in Justice League #35.

During Lex and Lena's childhood, they were raised on a farm, where they were beaten up by their father Lionel. Many times, their mother herself did nothing but stand there and watch. Eventually, Lena became paralyzed and more susceptible to Lionel's cruelties. According to Lex, their parents died, and he moved to Metropolis, where he created the LexCorp. After Lex left, his aunt Lillian raised Lena and encouraged her interest in science.

Lex believed he could cure her condition. However, when he could not, the shame over his failure led Lex to keep Lena locked away in his lab. Lena too was a genius, and managed to break free from captivity before building herself a giant mech suit. Calling herself Ultrawoman, she was no longer confined to a wheelchair, but a formidable opponent in battle. She used her power to take control of Metropolis, having trapped Lex in the secret basement of his own building. However, Lena's new form required so much energy that she needed a new power source, and chose the new Superwoman to be her living battery. However, Superwoman defeated her, and Lena was imprisoned once more at LexCorp.
