Mileena is a major antagonist from the Mortal Kombat franchise of fighting games.
Originally, she was a genetic experiment from Shang Tsung's Flesh Pits to serve as a mutated clone "sibling" to Kitana, being generated through a mixture of Edenian and Tarkatan DNA and magic.
However, starting from Mortal Kombat 1, she is instead depicted as Kitana's twin sister through birth and the rightful heir to Outworld's throne, only to be slowly have her body transformed to a paranoia-driven monster through conspiracies to have her royal destiny usurped and a vicious case of Tarkat. It also marks the first time in the series where Mileena is a entirely heroic, if somewhat insecure, character, meanwhile the villainous version Mileena from the previous timeline comes to invade Liu Kang's new timeline.

Appearance[]
Mileena has a beautiful and seductive appearance yet a terrifying mouth concealed under her mask. Mileena usually wears an attire with shades of magenta-pink as her color. Her first costume was a simple pink leotard suit similar to Kitana's.
It was not until Mortal Kombat: Deception that her clothes became more provocative and exposed. Her first costume consisted of a veil concealing her mouth, her hair tied in a long ponytail, and a long black robe covering her arms while revealing her chest and midriff. She wore a black belt around her waist and knee-high, high-heeled black boots. Her MK9 costume, which is similar to her Deception alternate, consisted of a revealing outfit much like in the games prior; she wears pink high-heeled boots along with a pink mask. The way her costume is designed reveals her cleavage, midriff, abs, and muscle.
In Mortal Kombat X, her outfit is much less revealing than in previous titles. She now donned sleek pants, and although still largely retaining her Tartakan features, her mouth also included lips to give her a more human-like appearance.

Unlike Kitana (the person she was cloned from), Mileena is vicious, evil, and unhinged. She despises Kitana and constantly seeks to kill her, feeling entitled to rule over Edenia as Princess in her place. She is somewhat of an opportunist, taking any chance to seize whatever power comes into her hands. She is also demented, ruthless, and murderous, especially whenever anyone stands in her way to get what she wants.
Although Mileena wishes to kill Kitana, sometimes Mileena wants her to suffer first. Mileena wants to follow in her father's footsteps and be ruler of Outworld like Shao Kahn. She also wants everything Kitana has Mileena, wants Kitana's throne to Edenia she and wants to be as beautiful as Kitana. In her Armageddon ending Mileena doesn't kill Kitana but instead makes her sister ugly while Mileena becomes beautiful.
Mileena's goal in Armageddon is to make herself beautiful and Kitana was becomes ugly. But like many other kombatants she also wants the power to rule. Many fighters want the power of Blaze to become gods, the champion or become the best fighters. Some want the power to destroy others want to steal the powers from other fighters. While some want to wipe out evil for ever. Mileena's wish to use Blaze's power to rule is no different from most of the other kombatants and while she wants to also look like Kitana. Mileena if she gets her wish acts like Kitana to fool others into thinking she is Kitana.
Mileena is jealous of her sister she wants her sister dead so no mare what Kitana won't stop Mileena from taking what she wants. She wants her sister to experience want she goes through Mileena wants to know what it's like to be Kitana and she wants Kitana to know what it's like to be like her. Even though Kitana has suffered, lost her home and family at the hands of Shao Kahn Mileena believes Kitana has to experience the losses of what she has gone through. After freeing Edenia from the grip of Shao Kahn and not being given the right to rule Outworld. With heroes taking everything away from Mileena to protect, defend and save their world. Mileena wants everything taken away from Kitana just like everything was taken away from her.
Mileena also seems to enjoy teasing and toying her opponents doesn't matter if they are allies or enemies. She is a skilled fighter and enjoys the thrill of combat she enjoys the blood, bringing pain and making others suffer. Although Mileena wishes to have Kitana's beauty she likes to watch the horrified expressions on the faces of the people who see her face. Mileena likes to strike fear in her opponents and likes to think of combat as a game and as play. Most of Mileena's appearance has the good looks of an Edenian while she has the strength and the personality of a Tarkatan. She has no shame and no regrets about her actions while she enjoys being who she is she feels incomplete without her sister's beauty. Despite this, Mileena genuinely seeks love from others and is jealous of how only her "sister" obtains it, resulting in her being manipulated by people like Reiko quite easily.
Both Mileena and Kitana have a strong rivalry, as Kitana doesn't like Mileena because of her sick nature and her horrifying looks. Mileena doesn't like Kitana because of her opposite good nature she also doesn't like her because she has what her cloned sister doesn't have beauty and the power to rule a realm. In the alternative timeline, however, Mileena did try to bond with Kitana at first, only for Kitana to reject her out of disgust.
Although Mileena's outfits have become less revealing over the years, she still has a seductive personality and still likes to show off some of the good looks she has. She still likes to show off some of her beauty and still likes to wear revealing clothes. Mileena likes to seduce others with her beauty but she also likes to creep people out after they see her face.

Mileena possesses great combat strength, aptitude, and agility and wields a pair of sai in combat, that she can charge with energy and throw at her opponent. Mileena's teeth are also so sharp, she can easily bite into her opponent.
Throughout the series, Mileena's strength has been shown to rival the Shokan and possibly other Outworld fighters. Mileena is almost equal to Kitana However, Mileena has lost to Kitana a few times although came close numerous times in battle.
It can be noted that Mileena is more violent and less reserved than Kitana who is more skilled and calm. despite being untrained in martial arts Mileena uses her own deadly attacks mostly brute force such as uppercuts and punches usually incorporating fierce strikes to her opponents. During Mileena's X-ray In MK9 She shows strength by putting all her power into a knee attack that breaks the opponent's jaw and teeth.

Edenian/Tarkatan Hybrid Physiology: Mileena is a female construct created by Shang Tsung. He had fused Edenian DNA with Tarkatan DNA in order to create her. As a clone of Kitana, she possesses many gifts.
Superhuman Strength: She has been shown to be able to fight with brute strength rivaling that of a Shokan, if not surpassing it. Because of her being Kitana's clone, she almost is equal in strength to her.
Superhuman Speed: She possesses incredible speed. Coupled with the Tarkatan blood coursing through her veins and physique that allows for superb agility, this makes Mileena one of the most vicious and deadly characters in the entire series.

Magic: Mileena does have magic capabilities. As shown in Mortal Kombat (2011), Mileena becomes enshrouded in a pink, flame-like aura when executing her signature techniques, including the Rolling Thunder, Soaring Sai and Kick From Above. In Mortal Kombat X, her powers have developed further, granting her the ability to instantly warp towards sais she has thrown on the ground through a variation called Ethereal. Mortal Kombat 11 further expands her magic abilities. Some of her moves that are normally cloaked in her signature pink aura in the modern games are mixed with a second layer of aura that is colored blue. Complimenting her assassin character, Mileena has the ability to turn completely invisible albeit she is covered in a magic aura that gives away her position. This drawback is compensated by her body being completely invisible even during attacks, making her foes oblivious to whatever she is going to do next.

Longevity: It's unknown how long Mileena can live for, but with her Edenian and Tarkatan characteristics, it's possible she can live for thousands of years.

Skilled Martial Artist: In Mortal Kombat (2011), Mileena does not have the same knowledge of martial arts as her former version but replaces it with more wild, fierce attacks that make her exactly the same or even deadlier in terms of ferocity, although she is more mentally unstable. Mileena however does have intelligent skills in martial arts.

Master Acrobat: Mileena has shown to be quite a skilled acrobat. She can roll faster than ever and can further increase her acrobatic skills with her Tarkatan features.
Weapon Proficiency: What separates her from Kitana, though, is her weapon of choice in the sai. She exhibits proficiency with the Sai that is equivalent to Kitana's with her fans.
Intelligence: Mileena is not very intelligent, but she has shown to be skilled leader in MKX and she can formulate strategies as well.

Indomitable Will: Mileena does have strong determination to protect her "right" as Empress after Shao Kahn's death. Though she was deposed and betrayed by Kotal, D'Vorah, Reptile, and Ermac, she would not give up so easily. She was freed by Tanya and Rain and started a rebellion army in order for her to take back her throne from Kotal.

Tarkatan Teeth: With her Tarkatan teeth, Mileena can easily bite through anyone.
Sai: Mileena is the traditional and famous user of the Sai blades in the series. Using them in pairs as a handweapon, she also uses them as projectiles in some instances. The Sai are frequently, if not always included in her Fatalities. In Mortal Kombat X, Mileena's Piercing Variation causes her Sais to glow pink. Additionally, the variation itself is designed to utilize the Sais in an offensive manner as compared to her other variations, gaining different basic attacks, combos and special attacks utilizing her Sais. While in her Ethereal Variation, she is capable of teleporting to her Sais that she has thrown at different distances in the arena, using them in both an offensive and defensive manner depending on how she uses them.

Though at first, she was simply a palette swapped version of Kitana, her clothes became more and more provocative and revealing as the games went on. This suggests she is flaunting her body to make up for her Tarkatan features.
However Mileena's appearance drastically changes in Mortal Kombat X, where she looks more demonic than seductive.
Every time Mileena encounters Kitana, she always calls her "sister".
In Mortal Kombat X, her costumes are not as revealing in the other games.
In the Mortal Kombat (2011) Challenge Tower, she had made a teddy bear for Scorpion. Making fans believe she has feelings for Scorpion, this is yet to be confirmed.
She is about 5'9 and 127 lbs.
An interaction with Johnny Cage hints that Mileena may have a secret sexual relationship with Baraka.
Related to that, Mileena is also implied to be in love with Tanya, being extremely upset when she finds out she is dead and doing anything to avenge her, as well as raising a child with her in her arcade ending in Mortal Kombat 11.
In the new era of Mortal Kombat 1 (2023), Mileena is Kitana's older twin sister who was cursed by a Tarkat disease to become a Tarkatan hybrid.
