I'll tell you what were doing tonight, you know what we're f***ing doing tonight. You see that? F***ing pieces of the f***ing queen. One prostitute. Two prostitutes. Three prostitutes. Four prostitutes. Five f***ing prostitutes.
~ Pat Tate in Rise of the Footsoldier 3
"Deliver the f***ing pizza she wants or your mom and dad will be down the f***ing morgue identifying your f***ing body. YOU GOT ME, C***?!".
~ Pat Tate threatening the pizza delivery guy on the phone before the latter hangs up on him, which consequently leads to the former confronting and beating up the caller at the restaurant later on.
Take it. Take it all.
~ Pat's final words before getting killed by Mickey Steele

Pat Tate is one of the main antagonists in the 2007 crime film Rise of the Footsoldier and later reappeared in its sequels.

He is portrayed by actor Craig Fairbrass, who is also known for playing Dan Sullivan in EastEnders; Lincoln Burgess in Avengement; Nick Barton in The Bank Job; Delmar in Cliffhanger; Freddy "Dead Cert" Frankham in Dead Cert; and Eddie Banks in Villain.

Biography[]

Pat Tate is a notorious criminal and habitual offender whose list of offences mainly revolve on drug dealing. He is one of the best friends and longtime associates of fellow infamous gangster Tony Tucker, who alongside his companion Craig Rolfe joins him in committing crimes and attacking people whenever they are unable to repay them in their debts to their long-running gangland businesses.

Tate's notorious reputation emerged in December 1988, when he violent attacked a waiter for distributing his private time with his girlfriend and proceeded to steal eight hundred pounds from the counter in the restaurant. Tate was arrested and was set to serve ten years in prison. Tate escaped court and knocked out a policeman before he fled to Spain to avoid arrest. He was eventually rearrested and spent over a decade in prison where he build a reputation for himself. Tate was soon released and he began to expand into drug dealing and extortion by partaking in multiple counts of criminal jobs at the expense of anyone who got in his way. Tate later had a wife and a baby, but they left him after his continuous violence and acts of criminality caused her to distrust him. She later approached one of Tate's friends, Mickey Steele, for comfort over Tate's constant abuse and violence.

It was at this point that Tate became one of the most feared and unrepentant figures of the Essex underworld as he and Tony and their accomplice Craig Rolfe continued to get out of control with the crimes they perpetuate. One said matter involves Tate confronting and assaulting the manager of a Pizza restaurant after an argument between them in a phone call over what Tate's prostitutes were ordering from the place. Tate later became acquainted with Tony's friend Carlton Leach and he and Tony offered Carlton a chance to join them in their criminal activities. But Carlton refused due to seeing how uncontrollable Tony and Tate were at their methods. Tate later joined Tony and Craig in encountering Mickey for a meeting over 30 kilos of illegal drugs. Tate was prepared to betray and kill Mickey should the deal go wrong due to him not trusting Mickey in the business. However, it would be Tate that ends up being betrayed when Mickey's gunman Jack Whomes surprises Tate by holding him at gunpoint after shooting both Tony and Craig dead in front of him. Tate begs for his life before Mickey emerges with a shotgun and shoots Tate, mortally wounding him. Mickey ignores Tate's pleas for mercy and insults him for his constant recklessness, even when Tate offers Mickey the whole 30 kilos just to save his own skin. Mickey again shoots Tate and then has Jack shoot him in the head, killing Tate and ending his rampage for good.

Trivia[]
