Po Kong, also known as the Demon of the Mountains, is a minor antagonist in the TV series, Jackie Chan Adventures.
She is a powerful monster with a deep baritone voice, lust for power, and huge appetite for human flesh. She is one of the eight Demon Sorcerers and the largest out of all of them.
History[]
The Demon Sorceress of Mountain, she was banished by the Immortal Zhang Guo Lao. Po Kong's portal is located in her former domain of Japan. It is, like several other doors, contained within a regular door. When she was released, she attempted to devour Jackie. However, she was overwhelmed by an army of Jades created by a faulty cloning spell. Using a drum found at the site, the Chans then banished her once more. Po Kong is the largest demon in the group. Po Kong appeared in Demon World (Part 2), where she rules Japan and forces many to work in salt mines for her meals. She attempted to devour them again. However, Tohru was enslaved in her domain, and aided the Chans by banging on a nearby drum to banish her. Po Kong's Chi was located in the Canadian city, Quebec, within a pair of chopsticks, made from the Immortal drumsticks that banished Po Kong.
Appearance[]
Po Kong is a giant, green blob monster with red eyes, yellow lumps on her body, big red lips, and purple hair.
Personality[]
Po Kong's distinguishing feature is his voracious appetite and obsession with eating. Food is first and foremost on her mind - the first thing she looks for from Shendu after freeing her from the Netherworld is "dinner", and the first thing she does when Hsi Wu woke her up from her nap to ask if she had eaten. it was time for dinner and then wondered when she heard that Bai Tza had been banished back if she brought the food back to the Netherrworld with her. Po Kong admits that she is particularly fond of the taste of humans and often expresses delight at the thought of practically eating them every time she meets a member of the Chan clan. Like other sorcerer demons, Po Kong doesn't hesitate to kill a child like Jade Chan in pursuit of his goal (appetite in his case). Aside from humans, she has also been observed eating giant slugs similar to Shendu's meals in the Book of Ages timeline, though she is a bit picky with these meals and ask for them to be served with salt. Po Kong's appetite is also her weakness, as it often distracts her from the presence of potential threats other than the human she's targeting.
While Po Kong's gluttonous personality makes her seem less ambitious and more placid than most of her siblings, she is by no means free from cruelty. She pressured her slaves in the alternate timeline to extract more salt to her meals or risk swallowing them all. She is shown to be a bit intimidating towards her brother Hsi Wu (who, on the contrary, is an obnoxious nuisance to her), squeezes him in her arms and knocks him over when he tries to help her scratch her back, apparently just for fun of it.
Powers and abilities[]
Po Kong is the biggest character and demon in the entire series. Her large body nullifies any attack from a normal human and she can easily devour anyone/anything if she gets her hands on it. Po Kong can withstand Dragon Talisman's fire blast with no signs of being injured, and similarly, Tohru can take multiple fireballs from Drago without harm.
Aside from physical strength and the ability to eat, Po Kong possesses no other supernatural powers unlike his siblings, who both possess elemental or supernatural abilities. However, she still has some knowledge of magic.
