The Thing disguised as a dog as seen in the 1982 film.
The Dog-Thing sneaks into a room with a unseen crew member it would infect.
The Kennel-Thing as shown behind the scenes.
The Kennel-Thing reveals itself as its head splits-open into a flower-like shape revealing a long tentacle inside.
The Kennel-Thing, an imitation of Lars' dog having been spotted right when it grew a new dog head. It was also found in the process of consuming the other dogs.
The Norwegian-Thing consuming Bennings.
The Bennings-Thing, an incomplete imitation of Meteorologist George Bennings. It in almost every way resembles him, save for its hands, nothing more than deformed hunks of flesh and bone. Discovered before it could finish its assimilation of Bennings, it lets out a haunting wail.
The Norris-Thing, an imitation of geologist Vance Norris who revealed itself after chopping Dr. Copper's arms off. It tried to make an escape through the ducts after bursting out of Norrs' body.
The Head Spider, a second imitation of geologist Vance Norris that revealed itself right after the moment the Norris-Thing was burned up by MacReady. It separated itself from Norris' burning body in time, grew spider legs, two eyes and tried to escape like the Norris-Thing, but was spotted by Palmer and burned alive by MacReady as well.
The Blood-Test Thing on the floor.
The Palmer-Thing, an imitation of the mechanic Palmer. Its skull splits in half to become a pair of jaws, the tongue being used as a tentacle to drag in prey.
The Palmer-Thing reveals itself as Garry and Childs struggle to get away from it.
The Windows-Things, an incomplete imitation of Radio operator Windows, created when the Palmer-Thing tore off most of the human Windows head. Still in the process of being assimilated, it is quickly discovered and destroyed.
The Blair-Thing, an imitation of Biologist Blair. It grew to a massive size by absorbing both Garry and Nauls, alongside the corpses of the Outposts dogs, using their biomass and limbs to create a horrid amalgamation of tentacles and fangs, what was left of Blair's face obstructed by the toothy maw growing out of his skull.
2011 Film[]
Split-Face. Created when the Edvard-Thing assimilated Adam Finch. Its body is lean and insectoid, what remains of its human components stretched disproportionately with multiple limbs to carry it. The face of this being is a grotesque fusion of Adam and Edvard, giving rise to its name.
The Juliette-Thing, an imitation of Thule Station Geologist Juliette. Its stomach cavity transformed into a gaping maw with many writhing tendrils, with a pincer like claw growing from underneath her left arm.
The Griggs-Thing, an imitation of Helicopter Crewman Griggs. Its entire front is split open, the rib cage turned into a vertical maw that unleash a multitude of tentacles.
An unused version of the Griggs-Thing made with practical effects.
The Sander-Thing, an imitation of Dr. Sander Halvorson. Its back growing to sprout a third arm with a fourth one replacing its human forms original left. At first wearing the face of Sander, before said face transforms into a sickening frenzy of teeth and tentacles.
The Edvard-Thing, an imitation Geologist Edvard Wolner. Its original arms detached to become the Hand-Centipedes, sprouting new, animalistic limbs and a mouth tipped tendril used to impale victims.
Arm-Centipede. Created from the detached arms of the Edvard-Thing, they sprout a multitude of insectoid legs to scuttle around, alongside a fang filled mouth to attack prey.
The Jonas-Thing, an incomplete imitation of Researcher Jonas, created when one of the Hand-Centipedes began fusing itself to Jonas's face. At the moment still retaining his humanity, Jonas silently pleads to be killed.
The Carter-Thing, an imitation of helicopter pilot Sam Carter. It looked exactly like him, however, due to the fact Things were incapable of replicating inorganic material, such as the earring the human Carter had, it is held hostage by a flamethrower. First pleading for its life now that it has been exposed, the Carter-Thing screams in rage as it is burned alive.
Miscellaneous[]
The Whitley-Thing (also known as the Cloud B4 carrier), an imitation of the corrupt U.S. Military Colonel, R.C. Whitley. Some moments right after Whitley's encounter with Blake, the former began to feel the side effect of the B4 Cloud Virus strain he had injected himself with earlier, and mutated into a massive creature, becoming both the final boss and most powerful of all the Thing's incarnations.
The Blair-Thing as it appeared in the Villain Pub parody of Among Us.
