A Loving Shiba and Battle Cat's rival. Trying to enter college this year. Very thoughtful and sends birthday gifts to Cat every year.
~ Doge's Enemy Guide entry.

The Doges (in Japanese わんこ, wankos) are the main antagonists of The Battle Cats franchise. They are an army of dogs and possible former friends turned rivals and archenemies of the Cat Army.

Appearance[]

Similarly to basic cats, basic doges are white dogs with a round cube bodies and four triangular legs and black dot-shaped eyes. Unlike cats, however, they also have a tail, whiskers, angry eyebrows and a white uncolored nose. Other variants are recolored to their respective traits and also have some other features in their appearance.

Biography[]

Backstory[]

Not much is known about Doges' origins aside from them being a clan. It is implied they were former friends of the Cat army.

Doges are high school graduates trying to enter college, with Doges Dark being their assassin counterparts. Gabriels, Relic Doges, Zoges, Coffin Zoges and Relic Doges are their undead ancestors, Gabriels being their great-grandfathers, Zoges being their fathers, Coffin Zoge being an ancient hero of the Doge Army and Relic Doges being the ancestral enemies of the Cat Army. Aku Doge is Doge's brother. Shibalien Elite is a mid-ranking member of the alien armies. Metal Doge and Shibalien are alien abductees. Wall Doge is a female doge who stole Wall Cat's schtick. Wild Doge is a dog who became a behemoth after hearing the call of the wild. Li'l Doge is Doge's grandchild. Haniwanwan is a dog created from clay to guard houses, which resembles its owner.

There are also a number of event Doge variants without proper guide entries. It is unknown if they were also members of the doge clan or even canon in the first place.

Doges also sometime appear near Gamatoto's base, stealing cat food that can be found nearby.

Doges have, at times, made excellent use of foreign resources against cats, evident by their frequent appearances alongside other, more threatening enemies. They were in possession of aspiring actor Miyamoku Musashi (then known as Inumunsha) and ancient mechanical guardian Mecha-Bun. The cats defeat and convert them eventually. Additionally, Doges also have two themed bases - The Doge Base, which has a bit of range but fires off devastating wave attacks that cover the whole field, and the Relic Doge Base, which does miniscule damage, but inflicts the curse effect in a large area, rendering cats reliant on certain abilities extremely vulnerable.

Trivia[]

  • Doge is based on the eponymous meme stemmed from a Shiba Inu dog.
  • Doge has the most variants out of every enemy in the entire game. Ironically, however, they are not the most seen enemies, being beaten by Those Guys.
