Tock is a minor antagonist from the American animated webseries RWBY. She is an assassin and member of Salem's Faction who is tasked with killing or incapacitating all of the Silver-Eyed Warriors in Remnant, but she was later killed by Maria Calavera after she sliced out Maria´s Silver Eyes.
She was voiced by Ruth Urquhart in English, and Natsumi Fujiwara in Japanese.
Appearance[]
Tock was a Crocodile Faunus with a shaved head, dark-green grayish mohawk and yellow eyes. She wore a dark green collared shirt with a dark brown corset that has a strap attached to a narrow belt around her thigh, black and gray striped trousers and black shoes. In addition, she wore dark brown fingerless gloves and carried a large stopwatch with her.
Her Faunus trait was patchy shady green scales all over her body and face. She had an x-shaped scar on the left side of her head, black polish on her nails and sharp metal teeth with two screws in them.
Personality[]
Tock was cruel, sadistic and brutal. She had no problem using dirty tricks to defeat her opponents. She was also rather arrogant, possibly due to her limited invulnerability. She claimed to be merciful, offering to spare Maria's life if she begged for it. In a dismissive way, she claimed she respected those who fight to the end.
Tock is described as having been proud of herself, especially of her Faunus heritage, to the point of having replaced her original teeth with a set of metallic crocodile teeth to enhance her imagery. Additionally, despite warnings from her master, Salem, Tock never grew to be cautious in regards to using her Semblance before her invulnerability wore off, instead choosing to play with her victims.

While most of her past is unknown, Tock was always known as a thrill-seeker and sadist. Not content with her reptilian scales being her only Faunus trait, she sharpened her teeth and covered them in metal to provide herself with an intimidating grin. She and her group were later hired by Salem to kill all of the Silver-Eyed Warriors that could pose a threat to the Grimm forces throughout Remnant.
During Tock's time working under her, Salem served as a mentor to the Faunus, advising her on how to properly use her Semblance and warning her to finish off her opponents before it wore off. However, she never took heed.
Hunting down the Silver-Eyed Warriors and Death[]
Eventually, Tock and her group happened upon a young Maria Calavera, who used her Silver Eye power to kill a Nevermore, and proceed to attack her. While Maria easily handles the others, she struggles against Tock's speed and swordsmanship. Tock relentlessly attacks her, eventually knocking her down and depleting her Aura. Maria gets back up and fights back, and the two's weapons collide. However, Tock uses her teeth and jaws to bite through Maria's defense and headbutt her, breaking her mask and leaving her vulnerable. With a single swing of her sword, Tock violently cuts out Maria's eyes.
Tock proceeds to mock Maria and dodge her attempts to fight back. As she stands over Maria and prepares to kill her, Maria summons one of her scythe blades to stab Tock in the back. As Tock falls, Maria uses her other blade to decapitate and kill her.
RWBY: Amity Arena[]
Tock appears as a unit in RWBY: Amity Arena. She is invincible for two seconds upon deployment, then acts as a ground melee unit that does ten hits with one attack.

Similar to her successor, Tyrian Callows, in Salem's Inner Circle, one of Tock's primary duty's was hunting the targets that Salem desired. She showcased herself to be a highly skilled tracker, as she was able to successfully hunt down Maria by following the trail of what little information of her sightings and appearances.
Weapon[]
Tock's weapons of choice were her Swords. They appeared to be a pair of inner circle golden-hilted cutlass styled swords, with the left blade beign more akin to a sabre, and the right blade being more akin to a katana, in which Tock having been shown and skilled enough in swordsmanship to easily fight and keep up with Maria Calavera, an impressive accomplishment considering the latter's own prodigal talents as a fighter. Tock was talented enough to even hold the advantage for the majority of the fight and overpower her.
Prosthetics[]
Tock was also shown to have modified her teeth by lining them with iron steel, effectively giving them a razor-sharp edge, strong enough to chomp right through Maria's twin Kama's handles.
Semblance[]
Tock´s Semblance, Invulnerability gave her the ability to become completely invulnerable for 60 seconds, creating an absolutely invulnerable full body Aura shield that completely shields her from all attacks. Unlike the typical Aura cloaks, Invulnerability did not weaken or break while within the set time limit.
Because she didn't have to worry about defending herself while her Semblance was active, Tock could focus entirely on offense and use her fierce and unrelenting fighting style to overwhelm her opponents, hammering at their defenses until they slip up, allowing Tock to exploit any openings and go in for the kill.
However, the use of her Semblance caused Tock to shatter all her Aura after the 60 seconds have passed, which left her completely defenseless and open to being hurt. This was also the cause of her death in the hands of Maria.
Before activating her semblance, she would set a stopwatch for sixty seconds to keep track of her Semblance's duration.

- She took a body part from another character, forcing them to replace it with a prosthetic
- Her attire and weaponry resembles that of traditional pirates; the crocodile often chased after Captain James Hook in the play.
- Her name alludes to the Disney adaptation's name for the Crocodile, Tick-Tock.
- Interestingly, she's one of the few characters in the show that doesn't have a color based name or surname.
