Steven Essex is the main antagonist of the 2019 Hulu original movie A Nasty Piece of Work. He is the boss of the company Falconheart Enterprises and doesn't give his employees a Christmas bonus one year, all so he can invite employees Ted and Gavin over to his house to torture them.
He was portrayed by the late Julian Sands, who also played the eponymous character in Warlock and Warlock: The Armageddon, The Phantom of the Opera in the 1998 titular film adaptation, Valmont in Jackie Chan Adventures, Vladimir Bierko in 24, Jor-El in Smallville, DeFalco in Call of Duty: Black Ops II, Yulish Rabitov in Banshee and Gerald Crane in Gotham.
Summary[]
Steven is the boss of Falconheart Enterprises. One Christmas, he decides to not give his employees a Christmas bonus, all so he can invite his two favorite employees, Ted and Gavin, over to his mansion so they can compete for a special new position. With the help of his wife Kiwi, Steve puts the employees and their wives through hell: exposing how much of a misogynist Gavin is, attempting to rape Gavin's wife, publicly humiliating Ted's wife Tatum, and toying with the skeletons in Ted's closet. His evil ways ultimately culminate with him forcing Ted and Gavin to battle, which results in Gavin being shot in the arm and Ted having his skull cracked. Steve then forces Ted and Gavin to shoot each other, until Tatum grabs Gavin's rifle and kills Steve and Kiwi.
Personality[]
Steve is an arrogant and sadistic person, who is happiest when people are hurting. He toys with Ted's deepest secrets and Gavin's insecurities, and makes fun of Tatum's caring attitude.
