Biography[]
An Unexpected Journey[]
Fimbul was one of Azog’s main lieutenants, along with Yazneg. He and Yazneg had been sent to find and scout out the location of Thorin and his Dwarf party. Having found them, Yazneg sent Fimbul to rally the other warg riders to their location. The Dwarf party has managed to escape when the riders arrived and tried to run to Rivendell. However, one rider, named Lagdush, was close to finding the dwarves. They attempted to kill him silently, but his screamed in agony. The riders had heard this and started to chase the dwarves. Radagast the Brown had diverted some away, but the rest still chased the Party. The party hid in a cave until Elvish riders attacked the orcs, sending the rest fleeing.
Fimbul is then seen again when Yazneg had went to Azog to report their failure. The angered Azog killed Yazneg by feeding him to the Wargs. He then announced that there is a bounty on Thorin’s Head.
When the goblins capture Thorin, Azog and his riders are sent word. The dwarf party escapes the goblins but are ambushed by the orcs. When Thorin is injured, Bilbo protects him. Fimbul and the other riders attempt to finish the pair off but are picked off one by one by the Giant Eagles Gandalf had sent for. Luckily for him though, he survives along with his leader and few other hunters.
Desolation Of Smaug[]
Fimbul is first seen in the sequel following Azog to Dol Guldur. There Azog assigns Fimbul to his son, Bolg, with other orcs to hunt down the Dwarf Party. The orcs find the dwarves at Mirkwood, but after clashing with the Elves, who have been pursuing the escapees as well, both parties manage to lose their targets.
Following the dwarves' trail by the riverbank, Fimbul notices a puddle of blood left by Kili's poisened wound. The orcs eventually reach Laketown, where they conclude that the Dwarves have taken refuge. Bolg orders his underlings to search Bard's home upon noticing some of the Company's dwarves in it.
However, upon attacking the house's residents, the orcs are in turn ambushed by Tauriel and Legolas. Fimbul narrowly escapes the slaughter by jumping over a balcony onto a boat below, where he reports to Bolg that Oakenshield had gone to the Mountain. Suddenly, Legolas kicked a body of one of the dead orcs over the balcony and onto the boat below, which launched a horrified Fimbul right to Legolas, who swiftly stabbed him in the throat with his daggers, decapitating him. While the orc's body instantly fell into the water, Fimbul's head remained, growling at Legolas before being thrown into the water as well.
