Biography[]
Heroes of Might and Magic III: The Shadow of Death[]
Finneas Vilmar was a ambitious lich who met another lich, Sandro. They both longed for power, but Sandro wanted conquer the world and thought Vilmar could be useful to him. The road to power was blocked by several factions, but their fight was moving in the right direction. Sandro also defeated some notorious figures, including the former leader of the warlocks, Lord Alamar and several others, and Vilmar supported him in every way. Their main enemy was a necromancer named Duke Alarice, who also made an alliance with AvLee but he retreated after several defeats. Together they fought successfully against different factions, but there were differences between them before. Finneas and Sandro disagreed on tactics and strategy, as Vilmar considered himself as a tactical genius, but Sandro knew that the king's candidate strategy would have clearly led them to certain death. Nevertheless, they successfully held together and defeated their enemies.
In the final battle, several other necromancers and death knights were defeated, such as Aislinn, Tamika, and Nagash, but the ultimate victory was the final defeat and death of Lord Alarice. After that, Finneas Vilmar became the new king of Deyja and the necromancers, and Sandro became his most important advisor. However, the actual power was in Sandro's hands, and Finneas was a kind of puppet for him, and so the road to world domination was open to him. Vilmar then launched a massive attack on the lands of Erathia and AvLee, and the undead began to flood into neighboring areas. It was mainly the undead armies against AvLee began to brutally kill the population or turn them into skeletons. However, four heroes fight against them. Two barbarians, Yog and Crag Hack, the ranger Gelu and the druid Gem. The necromancers and the death knights suffered constant defeats and the losses were enormous after a time. The situation was also bad because the armies of the undead were so weakened that both Eeofol and Nighon launched a minor invasion against them. King Vilmar had enough and he sent Sandro to deal with the enemies personally. The lich was not only a great sorcerer, but also a great strategist and successfully defeated the forces of Nighon and Eeofol. He then focused all his strength on the four heroes but Sandro had an important advantage against them. The rangers and the barbarians were not allies of each other and although Yog and Gem tried to be allies, they eventually fought against each other. It was a big mistake because it allowed Sandro to mobilize more forces and attack them separately.
Vilmar began to write orders to him in an increasingly arrogant manner, but Sandro reminded him of who had helped him to become king. He even used a spell on him, so the quarrel ended for a while. Sandro won a devastating victory, crushing the armies of the four heroes, and they retreated. It really seemed that Vilmar and the necromancers would win the war and Sandro might become the ruler of the world, but the heroes didn't give up. They formed the alliance and their goal was to create a powerful artifact, the Angelic Alliance, which also had a chance against Sandro's dark artifacts. The lich mobilized all undead forces of Deyja and built a defense system, and a series of disasters strike the heroes, but they finally managed to break through. The necromancers were severely defeated and Sandro also lost the battle, but managed to retreat. Finneas Vilmar was also involved in the final battle, but he, Sandro, Vidomina and Tamika were all defeated but managed to retreat. Sandro did not give up his plans for world domination, but changed them. He persuaded Lord Haart to poison Nicolas Gryphonheart, the king of Erathia and formed a dark alliance with Nighon and Eeofol. However, Vilmar saw it was time to set Sandro aside and he wanted to reap all the glory. The king convinced his advisor that an undead lord named Smedth wanted to take Sandro's place and ordered him to kill him in person. Sandro captured several castles, defeated Tamika, Moander, and a death knight named Lord Dufus, and then he killed Smedth. However, Vilmar soon revealed that he had actually tricked Sandro and had him arrested for killing an innocent lord. However, Sandro believed the king had underestimated him and even though he was in prison, everything would go according to his plans.
Heroes of Might and Magic III: Restoration of Erathia[]
As Sandro predicted, the combined forces of Nighon and Eeofol launched an invasion against Erathia, and Lord Haart poisoned Nicolas Gryphonheart. The king was buried in a grave, but the necromancers attacked the castle and took the coffin. Finneas resurrected the dead King Gryphonheart, but he could not control him and the awakened lich killed him. After his death, Nicolas became the king for a time, but after his daughter Catherine freed him from Vilmar's curse, Archibald Ironfist became the new king of Deyja.
Personality[]
Vilmar was a haughty, power-hungry, greedy person. He respected Sandro and initially regarded him as a companion for helping him gain the throne, but even before this, it turned out that he sometimes thought too much about himself. He considered himself a tactical genius and thought his word was above all and no one could oppose him. Despite not agreeing on everything, he valued Sandro and considered him his most important man, entrusting him alone with the most important matters. However, after his betrayal, it turned out that Vilmar had overestimated himself again. He imagined himself far more than he was and that was his end.
