Fire Giants are a hostile race of Giants from the popular fantasy role-playing franchise Dungeons & Dragons, they are among the more clever of Giants but still very aggressive, normally of a lawful evil alignment and making their homes either in the hottest regions of Toril or in elemental planes of fire and flame.
Biography
Fire Giants are a militaristic society and they value strength, and they are also quite intelligent despite their vicious appetite for war and thus they often enslave any races they manage to conquer, rather than killing them all - putting them to use in their continual quest to expand and conquer new territories.
Fire Giants were also frequent hostage-takers and would employ such tactics to gain power, living in extreme environments such as volcanoes or elemental planes of fire the Fire Giants were quite secure from most assaults and could prove a great danger even to experienced adventurers.
True Giants
The Fire Giants are one of several Giants in Dungeons & Dragons that are considered "True Giants" (in contrast to "Giant Kin", the most common of which are:
- Storm Giants
- Cloud Giants
- Fire Giants
- Hill Giants
All True Giants in Dungeons and Dragons obey a system of rules known as the Ordning, which ranked the Giants into a hierarchy, Fire Giants are superior to the Hill Giants but subservient to Storm and Cloud Giants - this means the mightiest Hill Giant is still inferior to even the lowest Fire Giant.. likewise even the mightiest of Fire Giants would rank below the lowest of the Cloud Giants.
