Flame Hyenard is one of the eight Maverick bosses fought in Mega Man X7, infected with the Sigma virus. Modelled after a Hyena, he is part of the Red Alert Syndicate. Flame is encountered in a lava plant. His weapon, the Circle Flame, allows wielders to throw bombs onto the ground. The bombs create fiery puddles with their explosions, and Hellride Inobuski (aka Ride Boarski) is weak to the weapon. X can get his hands on the weapon by defeating Flame, who is weak to the Splash Laser which can stun him and kills his clones instantly.
He is voiced by Peter Von Gomm.

Personality[]
When Flame Hyenard and the Hunters meet, he is already in a delusional state. Flame is first seen not noticing their arrival at first, and walks right past them, but upon noticing them, Flame immediately blames the Hunters for causing his suffering, which despite obviously being untrue drives him to attack them. This drove the heroes to put him down. His personality reportedly stems from the Maverick Virus in his veins. What he was like prior to contracting the Virus is an enigma.
Physical Appearance[]
As his name suggests, Flame Hyenard resembles an anthropomorphic hyena. His armor is mostly sandy brown and black, with various vents and exhaust holes located around it. One of his shoulders is normally open, constantly emitting a small stream of fire.
His Weapon (Circle Blaze)[]
Flame Hyenard channels fire for his weaponry. Circle Blazes are small glowing bombs that can be shot forwards. Their explosions leave a puddle of fire on the ground, hence the name of the weapon. X and Axl can use this weapon. X can charge the weapon up to release a more powerful bomb that creates a bigger explosion.
Bursting Flame Array[]
Roll fires her Circle Blazes towards the ground. As she does, she unleashes a powerful storm of fire that surrounds her, hurting nearby enemies, though she will have to expend power. Roll is still vulnerable during her use of the move, unlike with previous screen-clearing attacks.
Biography[]
Flame Hyenard attacked a lava factory, which X, Zero and/or Axl were trying to take back from Red Alert. Upon meeting him, the player discovers that Flame Hyenard is in pain, and attacks X, Zero and Axl because he believes that they are the ones causing his pain, a delusion most likely caused by the Sigma virus infecting him.
At the start of the battle, a large gazelle robot walks around the arena while 2 clones of Flame Hyenard run towards the player. The player must get onto the gazelle and attack Flame Hyenard. Flame Hyenard mainly attacks by throwing fireballs at the player. His weakness is the Splash Laser when playing as X or Axl and the Suiretsusen when playing as Zero.

- Flame Hyenard is the most annoying boss since he can say, "Burn to the ground!" at random.
- Flame Hyenard is unique as his lines in his pre-battle dialogue are the same, regardless his opponent's identity.
