The Flamelurker is a minor antagonist and boss in Demon's Souls, as well as its 2020 remake of the same name.
Biography[]
The Flamelurker is a demon created by the Colorless Fog of the Old One. Since ancient times, it was sealed away within the Stonefang Tunnel, near the temple where the Dragon God was worshipped and later imprisoned. When the player was sent on a journey by the Maiden in Black to slay the archdemons to open the portal to the Old One, one of which being the Dragon God, at the entrance of the Dragon God's temple was the Flamelurker in its imprisonment. Sensing the player, the Flamelurker breaks through the pillars of its prison and jumps down to confront the player trespassing its domain.
The Flamelurker is widely considered one of the hardest bosses in the game due to its extreme aggression to kill the player. It has extremely high fire resistance, and high resistance to poison, bleeding, and weaponry. It is, however, very weak to magic. Flamelurker's attacks include slashing its claws, jumping up to smash the ground, or slamming its fists to emit a fiery blast. It usually telegraphs its attacks by roaring and when weakened, it jumps back to leave fiery footprints that burn the player. Although the player can simply battle Flamelurker using regular weapons, trivializing its weakness to magic makes its health go down fast. If the player has no magic spells, using Sticky White Stuff temporarily will make their weapons deal magical damage.
Once Flamelurker goes down, it drops the Red-Hot Demon's Soul, which if given to Blacksmith Ed enables him to forge advanced weapons.

- One theory of the Flamelurker's origin is that of Legendary Big M, a powerful strongman who could slay dragons with his bare fists. Another theory says the Flamelurker is the demon form of the King of the Burrowers, as its head resembles the shape of the King of the Burrowers' head and circlet as depicted on the Stonefang Archstone.
- If consumed, the Red-Hot Demon's Soul gives 18,000 souls.
