| ~ Flim meeting Major Grodin Tierce. |
Flim was one of the primary antagonists of the Star Wars: Legends Hand of Thrawn duology, and first introduced in the novel Specter of the Past.
Biography[]
Around 11 years After the Battle of Yavin (ABY), Moff Vilim Disra hatched a plan to use an actor to impersonate Grand Admiral Thrawn and use him to rally the Imperial Remnant to defeat the New Republic. After a few years of searching he finally found Flim. Deeming him to be a suitable individual Disra hired Flim to impersonate Thrawn as part of his plans.
Flim was not a Chiss but did bear a physical resemblance to the late Chiss Grand Admiral. He used blue makeup and glowing contact lenses to make himself look like Thrawn. He studied all the available records on Thrawn to learn everything he could about the man.
In 19 ABY Disra set his plan in motion when Grand Admiral Gilad Pellaeon decided further resistance was pointless and called for the Empire to negotiate a peace with the New Republic. Disra brought the clone Grodin Tierce into his plans, with the clone acting as the tactical brains of the triumvirate formed by the three men. Flim formed and helped formulate strategic plans that Flim would then put into motion among Imperial forces. The three altered Thrawn's genetic records so that DNA analysis would convince people that it was indeed Thrawn if anyone took a sample from Flim and had it analyzed. So convincing was Flim's act that even officers who served under Thrawn such as Captain Dorja were convinced Thrawn had returned and a number of people in the New Republic were terrified that Thrawn had indeed returned.
Meanwhile, Pellaeon continued his own efforts and began hearing rumors of Thrawn's return. He became determined to find out if Thrawn had indeed returned, deciding that if Thrawn really was back he would submit to Thrawn's command. Investigating the matter further with assistance from Talon Karrde, Pellaeon found out the truth about not only Major Tierce, but Flim as well.
Heading to the Star Destroyer Relentless, Pellaeon exposed the sham to his fellow officers and the New Republic. Tierce attempted to attack Pellaeon, but was stopped and then killed by the Mistryl mercenary Shada D'ukal. Flim agreed to portray Thrawn one last time in order to transmit a cease fire order to the Imperial fleet while General Bel Iblis ordered his own forces to cease fire. Both Flim and Disra were then arrested by Pellaeon, with Flim admitting that he was relieved the whole affair was now over. A short time later the New Republic and the Imperial Remnant signed a peace treaty, bringing the two decade long Galactic Civil War finally to an end. It was not known what happened to Flim after his arrest.
