Biography[]
Background[]
When Flintlocke was in the middle of a sea battle, his ship sank in the sea and he was left in the sea to float on a piece of the board. But when Nadakhan came to the scene and let him make three wishes, he first hoped to be on dry land, and then Nadakhan moved him to the desert. Next, he hoped to be somewhere in a cold place, and Nadakhan moved him to the Arctic, and when the Treehorns attacked him, he hoped to be the last to stay on the Pirate Ship, and after the third wish, he became a member of Nadakhan’s pirate crew. Later, after Captain Soto captured Nadakhan in the Teapot of Tyrahn, he and other members of Nadakhan's crew were driven into exile with the help of the Realm Crystal.
Skybound[]
When Nadakhan was released with the help of Clouse, he brought Flintlocke and the other members of his crew back with the help of the Realm Crystal. And when Nadakhan then planned to return to his home world in Djinjago, and he and the other pirates followed him to Djinjago, but when they arrived there, they found Djinjago being destroyed, and KhanjiKhan revealed the cause of the destruction was that Djinjago’s sister world, Cursed Realm. And when KhanjiKhan gave Nadakhan a Djinn Blade, and he, Nadakhan and the other pirates returned to Ninjago, Nadakhan decided to take over Ninjago and make it a new Djinjago, while also making sure that the Ninjas destroyed the Cursed World and he and the other pirates were involved in Nadakhan’s plan to create a New Djinjago. When creating a new Djinjago, he and the other Sky Pirates collected pieces with Nadakhan from the land of Ninjago into the air, and those pieces were to be used to create a new Djinjago, while Nadakhan tried to grab Ninjas for the Djinn Blade for future robbery and to become stronger. And at the same time, Nadakhan captured one Ninja, Nya, because he thought she was his dead girlfriend, Delara, and he wanted to force Nya to marry him. After captuirng Jay, Flintlocke was told of his captain's plans which he wasn't aware of. Aft first Flintlocke didn't take Jay's warning but when he saw Nadakhan actually trying to force Nya to marry him, Flintlocke tried to reason with him but he ended up being depromoted to Clancee's position when he tried to start a mutiny.
Then when Jay recruited auxiliary forces and went to a New Djinjago to rescue Nya and his other friends, he freed the other Ninjas and when all the other Ninjas tried to save Nya, Nadakhan expelled Clancee, Doubloon and Monkey Wrench while the Ninjas were fighting Nadakhan clones, he and Dogshank turned against Nadakhan and helped Ninjas save Nya and stop Nadakhan. After all the Nadakhan clones had been defeated, he was tasked with firing Tiger Widow's venom into Nadakhan, and he hit Nadakhan, but at the same time Nya also hit the venom. And when Jay hoped that the Teapot of Tyrahn had not been found, Nadakhan fulfilled his third wish, and with it he and the other Sky Pirates ended up in exile, for with Jay's third wish, all recent events were undone.
Personality[]
Unlike your typical pirate First Mate, Flintlocke was fiercely loyal and unusually sharp—devoted to both his captain and the Sky Pirates. Once a pirate captain, Flintlocke knew how to lead. The Sky Pirates saw him as a father figure—wise, charismatic, and sharp. He often settled disputes, spoke with confidence, and saw through deception, including Doubloon’s lies and Nadakhan’s schemes. Jay’s warnings struck a chord with him, and he quickly grasped the danger of infinite wishes.
Flintlocke took great pride in his sharpshooting, claiming he never missed—blaming the target if he did. But when a wish stole that skill, he was humbled. With Jay’s support, he regained both his aim and confidence.
Brave and loyal, Flintlocke confronted Nadakhan when things went too far. His trust shattered after Nadakhan exiled their crewmates, leaving Flintlocke heartbroken. Still, like Dogshank, he respected his foes—shown in the moment he wept after accidentally shooting Nya with venom.
