Flipper People are a recurring hostile species from the Netflix original series, Paradise P.D. They are race of human/dolphin hybrids, who live in the sewers beneath Paradise, having been banished from the aboveground world. Being segregated from humanity, they created a sub-society called "Flipperville", ruled by their queen, The Mother Dolphin.
Biography[]
In "Ass on the Line", Randall told Kevin about Flipper People and briefly recapped their backstory. He said that one day a group of hillbillies had regular sex with a dolphin at the Paradise Zoo, impregnating her with their human/dolphin hybrids. Eventually, they had enough children with the dolphin to populate the city with a new race of these demented creatures, otherwise known as "Flipper People". Most of these flipper people were banished to the sewers under the streets of Paradise, with a few of them being allowed to stay aboveground for some reason. As of 2018, the only flipper people to remain were Frank Flipperfist and Edna Dorsaldigits.
In "Parent Trap", Kevin fell into the sewer and ended up in Flipperville, where the Flipper People welcomed him to their society and showed him around their wonderful community. The Leader of the Flipper People explained to Kevin that since everyone in their community was born of the same mother, they are all technically brothers and sister, which had made their future generations of flipper people more and more inbred. Those who have sex with each other have inbred kids and those who have sex with the mother dolphin have more "dolphin-like" inbred kids. The flipper people needed Kevin to have sex with the mother dolphin to bring in a dash of humanity and outsiders to the species.
Kevin was forced into the mother dolphin's tank, where the flipper people demanded that he have sex with her. Kevin was disgusted by this and he tried to escape but the flipper people threatened him with a giant taser, saying that if he doesn't have sex with her on his own accord, they'll make him. Kevin escaped to a nearby room and closed the door. Due to the flipper people having flippers for hands, they were unable to open it. Eventually, the flipper people summoned one of their biggest, strongest members, Dolphin Lundgren, who broke down the door so they could get through. Kevin punched Dolphin out cold and the flipper people immediately started to cower and tremble in fear over Kevin as his fists gave him a power that was far out of their reach. Kevin punched his way through all the other flipper people and escaped the sewers.
