Flippy is a minor antagonist of The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius. He’s Hugh's ventriloquist dummy and later the antagonist of the episode of the same name.

Biography[]

Flippy got on Judy's nerves after Hugh spent all the grocery money on him. Much to her pleasure, Jimmy was forced to use him as firewood to launch the monster strapped to the rocket in "Attack of the Twonkies" back to Twonkus 3.

Later, Flippy reappeared in the episode of the same name as Flippy 2 that looks exactly like the original. Jimmy put a funny chip into Flippy to improve Hugh's jokes so he wouldn’t embarrass him during Career Day at his school. But since the chip was connected to the brain, Flippy is able to drain his father's brain in order to take on the traits of a real human being. This allows Flippy to become a human. The only way for Flippy to avoid getting rid of his father is for Jimmy, Carl and Sheen to take the chip out of Flippy to save Hugh.

Hugh is unable to be free Flippy from Sheen's hands, despite the fact that Sheen is making every attempt to do so. Jimmy makes use of his watch to magnetize Hugh's wristwatch to the garbage cans, which ultimately leads to Hugh being exonerated of his relationship with Flippy. Jimmy's watch is the mechanism that does this. It is unfortunate that Flippy has been able to absorb a sufficient quantity of Hugh's brain in order to convert into a walking doll that is fully functional.

As he tries to pick up Hugh with his powerlift, he sneaks away with a raygun and blasts it at Jimmy until he returns with the weapon. Following that, he proceeds to carjack Hugh's vehicle and then journeys to the woods outside of the city, where he leads Hugh’s body dangerously close to the edge of a cliff to throw the body off the cliff.

Jimmy remembers his mother telling him that she suggested that he find a new hobby because Hugh is fully fascinated with ducks. This is in light of the fact that Hugh is completely preoccupied with ducks. In order to shift his focus away from the situation at hand, Jimmy uses the quaking ducks that are flying overhead as a distraction. In an obsessive way, Flippy develops an obsession with ducks, and he starts chasing after them. Through the use of his blaster, Jimmy is able to save his father from being killed by Flippy.

Tirvia[]

  • He’s a composite of the resemblances of other malevolent puppets and/or dolls.
  • His wish to be "real" alludes to Pinocchio from the fairytale, Pinocchio.
