~ The Flute-Snatcher
The Flute-Snatcher is an antagonist in the General Foods commercial "Wheels, Crowns, & Flutes". a speed demon with a long, sharp nose and windblown hair, he, along with the Wheel-Stealer and the Crown-Grabber had insatiable appetites for the snack foods they were named after. Each time the Muppet narrator, a human-looking fellow, fixes himself a tray of Wheels, Flutes, or Crowns, they disappear before he can eat them. One by one, the monsters sneak in and zoom away with the snacks. Frustrated and peckish, the narrator warns viewers that these pesky monsters could be disguised as someone in your own home, at which point the monsters briefly turn into people and then dissolve back to monsters again.
He was used for various inserts in the first season of Sesame Street, as part of the show's ensemble of monsters and also appeared briefly in the 1970 special The Great Santa Claus Switch as one of the background henchmen and in 1984's The Muppets Take Manhattan as one of the wedding guests, sitting at the end of the fourth row on the bride's side.
