~ Jotaro to Forever. |
Forever is a minor antagonist in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders. He is one of the assassins hired by DIO and wields the Stand known as Strength.
In Japanese, he was voiced by Mitsuaki Madono in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Heritage for the Future and Kappei Yamaguchi in the anime. In English, his voice actor goes uncredited.
Biography[]
Forever is a large orangutan who is the captain (and only crew member) of a huge freighter ship named Big Daddy.
The Stardust Crusaders encountered Big Daddy in the South China Sea after narrowly escaping the ship of Impostor Captain Tennille. Forever invites them aboard by lowering the gangplank for them. They search the ship for any crew, but only find an orangutan inside a cage.
Suddenly, the ship itself starts to attack, killing one of the sailors from Captain Tenille's ship, by skewering his head with the hook of a loading crane. Since there is no sign of a stand, everyone writes it off as an accident and goes inside the ship.
Anne sees the orangutan doing strangely human-like things like reading a Playboy magazine and smoking a cigarette. The sailors tell her to stay away from the orangutan. Realizing she stinks of ocean water, Anne decides to take a shower. The orangutan, having killed all of the sailors, shows up to peep on Anne in the shower and attempts to rape and kill her, but Jotaro intervenes.
Though it can't speak, the orangutan reveals it has the intelligence of a human by solving a Rubik's cube. It also reveals that the entire ship is its stand, a stand so strong even normal humans can see it. It names the stand by pointing to the word "Strength" in a dictionary. Forever proceeds to attack Jotaro by telekinetically throwing parts of the ship at him, eventually trapping him against the wall.
Jotaro pulls a button off Forever's captain coat and throws it at the back of his head. Angry, Forever picks the button up. Jotaro has Star Platinum hit the button, sending it to split Forever's forehead open. Jotaro then uses Star Platinum's strength to rip himself free of the wall. Forever shows his belly to try and surrender, but Jotaro says Forever's actions have gone beyond "the law of the jungle" and pummels the orangutan. As Forever falls unconscious, the ship disappears as it returns to its true form: a tiny little wooden dinghy. The Stardust Crusaders return to their lifeboat and continue onward to Singapore. It is unknown what happened to Forever afterward, but as the orangutan was not onboard the dinghy in the end, it presumably drowned.
OVA[]
In the 1993 OVA, Jotaro stabs Forever in the head with his Star Finger move, but is unable to finish the job. Polnareff arrives just before Forever can finish Jotaro off and kills the orangutan by slicing it in two with Silver Chariot's sword.
Powers and Abilities[]
Forever has the physical strength and durability of an orangutan, which is said by the sailors to be five times that of a human.
Forever's stand is Strength, which takes the form of a freighter ship called the Big Daddy. The force of this stand is enough that even normal humans can clearly see and interact with the stand. Forever can control every part of the ship. He can walk through the walls, or pull equipment and wires out of the walls to attack enemies.
