Fractos is the main antagonist and the final boss of Dragon Quest Heroes II: Twin Kings And The Prophecy's End. He is the sibling of High King Unos from 1000 years ago. Fractos transformed himself into a demon and triggered a war against Unos, and was sealed awayas a result.
Personality[]
Fractos is an arrogant individual that believe that he is above all lifeforms and think that he has surpassed gods. He is also manipulative, as he is able to make kingdoms fight against each other by telling them about property and manage to make the King of Accordia to believe that he is his brother. Fractos is also cold-hearted, as he disposed the King of Accordia once he is useless to him. He also greatly hated Unos for sealing him away to the point that Fractos wanted to kill Unos's descendants as a revenge.
Appearance[]
In his humanoid form, Fractos has cyan skin, and has four long horns on his head together with red hair and beard, pointed ears, and yellow eyes. He wears a black, open-chested suit with purple lining, draconic, skull-like figures on the shoulders and hips, a red cape, and brown boots. On his exposed chest, he has a black tattoo.
Fractos Unfettered has a draconic purple body with green highlights. For his face, he has red hair, two long, multi-color horns, pupil-less eyes, and tusks. Fractos also has two small wings, two sets of arms (one normal sized and with the standard colors, the other being red and giant), claws on his hands and feet, and a tail with a red tip.
History[]
1000 years prior to the events in the game, Fractos and Unos were brothers who both co-ruled the world. Eventually, Fractos desired power and transformed himself into a demon, triggering a war against Unos, which cost the lives of minions.
Fractos also blasted the World of Darkness with Dreadbolt, killing all mortals in it. He then plans to do the same to the World of Light, but was stopped by Unos, who did not want to kill him and instead sealed him away in the World of Darkness instead. However, Unos eventually died and Fractos escaped.
Fractos, in order to throw the world in chaos, take in the form of King of Harba and murdered King of Dunisia, thus making the prince of Dunisia. Cesar thinks that the King of Harba is responsible for his father's death. Thus, Cesar declared war towards Harba to avenge his father. However, he soon found out that the King of Harba didn't kill his father, thus ending the war.
Fractos also takes the form of a seer and told the Queen of Ingenia that Harba and Dunisia will cease fire and invade her kingdom. Thus, she imprisoned the heroes once they arrived her kingdom. However, the Queen of Ingenia soon finds out that it is a mistake and released them.
Soon, Fractos goes to the Beastland and gives the King of Al-Khazam a Sword of Discord, which instantly corrupted the originally peaceful genie. The genie then invades the other two monster kingdoms, forming a massive army that invade the other kingdoms. However, the Sword of Discord is eventually destroyed by the heroes, thus ending the battle.
After the celebration of the end of the war in the kingdom of Accordia, the monsters vanished suddenly and unexpectedly invade the other five kingdoms as they are brainwashed by Fractos. The King of Accordia, together with his "twin brother", who is actually Fractos, revealed themselves. They corrupted the Cup of King and ordered some monsters to kill the heroes and the other five leaders. However, they all escaped.
After reclaiming the kingdom of Accordia from the monsters, the heroes climbed the Pinnacle of Peril to fight King of Accordia and his "twin", they soon discovered that a spell is required to enter the throne room, as a result the heroes go to Kingdom of Ingenia to learn it, however, the kingdom is attacked by Fractos's minion, Dhuran, eventually, Dhuran left and the heroes learnt the spell, thus entering the throne room to fight King of Accordia and Fractos. After their defeat, Fractos kills the King of Accordia and revealed himself to the heroes, admitting that he is the seer and manipulated the King of Accordia. Fractos then blasted the tower with Dreadbolt to kill the heroes, however, the heroes are saved by a mysterious bird.
After the destruction of Pinnacle of Peril, Fractos recreated the Black Manse and started to charge the Dreadbolt, attempting to fire it to wipe out the population in the World of Light. and the heroes soon find the portal required for them to go to the World of Darkness, which is the only place that has the portal to bring them to the Black Manse. In the Black Manse, the heroes made their way to the throne room to confront Fractos, who found out that Lazarel and Teresa were the descendants of Unos. After a fight, Fractos merged with the Cup of King to become a hideous beast. Eventually, Lazarel and Teresa launched an attack at the Cup of King, which cause it to overload with light and fires a blast of energy, obliterating Fractos and the Dreadbolt, killing him once and for all.
