Franco Tribbo is an overarching antagonist in 1986 giallo film Midnight Killer, also known as You'll Die at Midnight. Tribbo is a misogynistic, horrifically violent serial killer of women. His murders were copied after he died, briefly leaving the presumption he was still alive.

Biography[]
Tribbo was a prolific serial killer and rapist in Italy, know as "The Midnight Killer" and recognized for his horrific M.O. of disfiguring the women he killed, from mutilations to burning. Tribbo was later interviewed in prison by criminal psychologist Anna Berardi to expand her studies. As Berardi later wrote in her thesis, Tribbo raped her during one session of questioning, which scarred her to the point of dissociating and identifying with Tribbo and his perverse violent predispositions. Tribbo was killed in a fire, which he was suspected of setting, but his remains couldn't be conclusively identified. When copycat murders of women were rampaging the city he operated in, it was assumed Tribbo had returned. Fears only increased due to the killer appearing to be Tribbo himself, disguised in an especially sculpted mask to look like Tribbo's scarred face. The same killed wiped Tribbo's information from the hospital database. After several brutally vicious murders and attacks, the killer was shot dead. Removing the mask revealed it was Berardi responsible for the crimes. Her instability extended all the way to taunting the detective who caught Tribbo, the same detective who shot Berardi to stop her.
