Background[]
Not much is known of him, other than he had did time in prison for aggravated robbery before getting released on parole. At some point, he got work at a catering company for felons. Sometime later, he was approached by Owen Reese who enlisted his help to scare his girlfriend's judgmental mother. He told Carriger if he did then he could help himself to the money laying around. After seeing the Denton house for himself, he agreed to help, and Owen gave him the alarm code.
Disco Bob[]
Carriger carried out the plan and entered the Denton home, though found nothing of value. After locating the father's gun, he woke the family up and marched them into the den. He demanded they give him money but when told him they don't have any, he ends up killing Owen's girlfriend Shelby and her mother by shooting them dead and shooting the son Jordan Denton, who ended up wounded though he escaped the house. Carriger then went on the run, since a witness was now out there.
Because of his actions, suspicions fell on the father Wes Denton who was revealed to have a life insurance on his wife, and they were struggling financially. Intelligence soon locates a wounded Jordan Denton and question him after he regains consciousness. Jordan identifies who really robbed the house it was Carriger.
After finding out about his history as a burglar, they track him at the train station. Seeing the cops closing in, he proceeds to runoff and the squad pursue him and he boards a train but after a lengthy chase Officer Adam Ruzek is able to catch him and tackles him. As he is arrested, Ruzek scolds him for his crimes of shooting kids and Carriger decides to expose Shelby's boyfriend Owen Reese as the one who had arranged it to go down, before he is hauled off.
In interrogation, Carriger tells Intelligence Detectives Alvin Olinsky and Antonio Dawson that Owen told him about the Denton House. He reveals that Owen gave him the code to the house and once in, he discovered that the house was empty and after finding the gun, he woke the family up and marched them into the den. He is unrepentant when he explains he killed them after giving them a choice. His words earn him the disgust from the detectives. When Owen was interviewed, he reveals he did not expect Carriger to kill the family. He was grief stricken especially when he found out that the family was broke and he got them killed for nothing.
He is then incarcerated for the double murder, attempted murder, and burglary.
