Frank Colletti is the major character of the 2002 drama/crime video game Mafia: The City of Lost Heaven and its 2020 remake, Mafia: Definitive Edition.
Frank Colletti was the Consigliere of the Salieri Crime Family and Don Salieri's best friend.
Biography[]
Frank Colletti was born in 1877. During his childhood, Frank had a dog of the cirneco dell'etna breed, which he was very fond of. At that time he met Ennio Salieri, and the two of them organized races with Frank's dog. However, the situation took a tragic turn when the dog, who was pregnant, lost a race. Salieri, enraged, tried to drown her as punishment. Frank, defending his pet, broke Salieri's nose, but this did not stop Salieri from finally shooting the dog dead.
Salieri Crime Family[]
Despite this violent incident, Frank and Salieri maintained their relationship, and eventually Frank became Salieri's Consigliere when they moved to Lost Heaven. Around 1930, Frank met Tommy Angelo, a new recruit who exceeded both of their expectations.
By 1933, he was blackmailed by Don Morello: he demanded Salieri's accounting books in exchange for guaranteeing the safety of Frank and his family, facilitating their escape from Lost Heaven by plane. Frank, who was already disillusioned with the Mafia life, accepted the deal and kept the books in the Grand Imperial Bank.
When Salieri discovered the betrayal, he sent Tommy to find both Frank and the books, with orders to eliminate him. Tommy met Frank at the airstrip, where Frank explained his motives. To Frank's surprise, Tommy decided to spare his life, allowing him to escape with his family, waving goodbye with a nod of approval.
Death[]
However, fate caught up with Frank when, during his exile in Europe, he made the mistake of placing a bet at a racetrack. A friend of the Salieri family recognized him, and Salieri sent his local men to assassinate him. Sam subsequently revealed this fate to Tommy. When Tommy inquired about the fate of Frank's wife and daughter, Sam responded with a resigned gesture, suggesting that they too had been killed, which shocked Tommy deeply.
