Biography[]
Frank Hollander was a character in a holodeck programme set in the American West. A computer malfunction disengaged the holodeck's safeties and trapped Worf, Alexander and Troi inside the programme. It also caused Frank's programmed appearance to change to match that of Lieutenant Commander Data, complete with his strength and skills, a feature that later spread to the other characters.
Frank was the father of Eli Hollander, who Worf had arrested for murder in his role as the sheriff of Deadwood. Frank responded by kidnapping Alexander, who had taken on the role of the deputy. Frank and his two henchmen confronted Worf at the saloon. Worf initially assumed Frank was Data taking part in the programme until Frank grabbed him by the shoulder and injured him. Frank demanded the release of Eli, treating Alexander as a hostage. Worf fled the scene with Frank's men firing after him.
Frank went to the jailhouse and surrendered his gun to Worf and Troi in return for a few moments with Eli. Worf agreed to release Eli in exchange for Alexander. Troi correctly guessed that Frank would try and double-cross them. Frank brought Alexander to the prisoner exchange, with Worf bringing Eli. As the two prisoners were released and walked towards each other, Frank yelled at Eli to get down, with Worf telling Alexander to take cover as well. Worf then activated a temporary personal forcefield that he had rigged up, causing Frank to empty his gun firing bullets at it. Troi covered one of Frank's men, who had been lying in wait, but the other one, Bandito, threw Frank a gun. Worf shot it out of his hand and, covering Frank with his weapon, told him and Eli to not show their face in town again.
