Dr. Louis Fericks, better known as Frax, is the secondary antagonist of Power Rangers: Time Force.
He is a human scientist who was attacked and left for dead after attempting to aid the mutant criminal Ransik, and forced to convert himself into a cyborg in order to survive. He later joined Ransik's forces in his new form and began constructing robotic minions to aid him in his quest to conquer the Earth and destroy the Time Force Power Rangers, while secretly plotting to overthrow him and take revenge.
He was voiced by Eddie Frierson, who also voiced Rabbitcon in the series, as well as Octophantom and the Blue Globbor in Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, Strikning in Power Rangers Lightspeed Rescue, Tenshinhan in the Harmony Gold dub of Dragon Ball, and Atori in Noein. His human form was portrayed by Jeff Griggs.
Appearance[]
When human, Dr. Ferricks was a handsome middle-aged man with glasses. He was only seen with a brown coat that had a black collar and sleeves and black pants with boots. He also wore a black fedora and black raincoat whenever he went outside, and carried a yellow umbrella.
As the robot Frax, Ferricks had a robotic body that was primarily gold in color (the color likely due to being painted). He also wore a matching battle skirt and cape that was vertically cropped in half, revealing the left side of his torso, left arm, and left leg that were crudely built and not covered by armor plates. Frax also possesses a robotic head that has a prominent chin and large crest, a pair of robotic eyes that could move to the sides with retractable mechanical eyelids, and a mouth that enables him to show a psychotic-looking smirk (usually when mocking someone or excited).

Frax was originally Dr. Louis Fericks, a scientist from the future that attempted to heal Ransik of his poisoning by Venomark, a mutant criminal who was later captured and placed in the X-Vault. It was he that provided the serum that Ransik must consume regularly to combat the poison; Ransik destroyed his lab and left him for dead in return due to his intense hatred for humans. Dr. Frax survived but was mortally wounded so he was forced to graft robotic parts onto his body and turn himself into an unrecognizable cyborg. Adopting the identity of Frax, he swore to destroy Ransik and joined his Mutant army, and worked his way into becoming Ransik's doting servant so he could betray and kill Ransik when the time came.
Time Force[]
Later in the series, Frax discovers the X-Vault, where the worst prisoners were contained. He releases many of them without Ransik's approval, including Venomark (an action that particularly angers Ransik due to their past history). As a form of revenge, he destroys all of his serum and runs away from Ransik. He begins constructing massive robots that run on powerful Trizirium crystals from Mr. Collins' lab. Frax created Dragontron and unleashed him onto the city nearly destroying the Power Rangers in the process.
In the finale, Frax is caught by Ransik with the aid of Gluto who has discovered his secret base. Nadira, Ransik's daughter, comes to him after she begins to doubt her father's mission. Frax explains that the hatred and prejudice between humans and mutants is a vicious cycle, and he urges her to break it before being taken away and having his memory erased. He is then reprogrammed to obey only Ransik and to use his robot Doomtron to destroy his enemies. Wes is able to return and destroy Doomtron, with Frax inside. Ransik and Nadira find Frax afterwards. Ransik kicks Frax's dying body and calls him useless. Frax's face falls apart, he lays his hand down, and he dies moaning. Frax was dead. Nadira mourns him briefly but quickly forgets him when she sees a baby in need.

As a human, Dr Louie Ferricks was an extremely kind and generous person who did not hold a prejudice against Mutants like most in the 30th century and simply helped anyone he saw that was in need.
As a robot, Frax was one of the most vengeful characters in Power Rangers who pretended to be Ransik's doting servant when in reality he was a violent traitor who only aligned with Ransik to kill him. He also disliked Ransik's belief that robots are inferior as well as the mutant's habits of destroying his creations when he was angry. This rage went unnoticed by Ransik for much of the series until he betrayed the Mutant leader.
Powers and Abilities[]
- Facial Transformation: Frax had a pair of robotic eyes that could move to the sides with retractable mechanical eyelids and a mouth which enabled him to show a psychotic-looking smirk (usually when mocking someone or excited).
- Super Genius: Dr Louie Ferricks was a genius level doctor capable of providing a constant cure to any illness even as potent as Venomark's venom.
- Robotics Expert: Dr Louie Ferricks was able to turn himself into a cyborg, build the Cyclobots and built Tronicon, Dragontron, Max Axe and Doomtron with just his footsoldiers for help.
Arsenal[]
- Claws: Frax had razor sharp "claws" on his gauntlet that he could use to blast his enemies.
- Energy Blasts: Frax could fire white smoke blasts form his gauntlet that took down Jen with one hit but could also shoot off Mutant DNA Patches.
