Freako Dragon is a major antagonist of the 2024 indie platform action game, ANTONBLAST.
He a minion of Satan who was tasked to defeat Anton and Annie, and is the second major boss in the game. (fourth boss overall including the Bossbusters)
Appearance[]
Freako Dragon seems to resemble a Naga dragon, with all of his body parts consisting of pinballs with sharp limbs and wings. His head has horns and a magenta pointed nose with a mustache.
Biography[]
After clearing the fifth, sixth, and seventh levels and defeating Tallbuster, Freako Dragon's boss gate will appear, allowing Anton/Annie to enter it. There they are confronted by Freako Dragon, who sights his new targets to eliminate, before flying around the stage. Smaller look-alike minions will wander around, while Freako Dragon occasionally breathes fire onto the stage, alongside dashing and removing one of the stage's tiles.
After all of his health is depleted, Freako Dragon will use a slot machine in the background to spurt out pinballs onto the stage, removing all the titles and initiating phase two. In this second phase, Anton/Annie must continuously hit and knockout Freako Dragon's body parts to deplete his second set of health. Freako Dragon will also launch fireballs onto the stage.
In his third and final phase, Freako Dragon will fly upwards, and Anton/Annie will latch onto his tail. Here, they must locate Freako Dragon's seven weak spots, and ground pound it to deplete his third set of health, while minions guarding the weak spots and Freako Dragon will try to stop them. After the final hit has been blown, Anton/Annie will take control of Freako Dragon and make him crash all the way down into a football stadium within a Satan-dominated Brazil, defeating him.
In the final boss fight against Satan, the demon will call for Freako Dragon, alongside Jewel Ghoul and Ring-A-Ding to dispose of Anton/Annie. However, Freako Dragon, with one body part left, is the only one active, as the other two are severely injured and unable to fight. Freako Dragon is easily defeated, and as soon as the Bossbusters crash their blimp into Satan's lair. Freako Dragon is presumably killed in their explosion.
Trivia[]
- In addition to being inspired from Gobblegut from Super Mario Galaxy 2, Freako Dragon's nose and mustache seems to resemble either Wario's or Waluigi's.
- Like all of ANTONBLAST’s bosses (sans Satan), the Freako Dragon represents one of the Seven Deadly Sins. In this case, he represents Greed thanks to his numerous gambling motifs.
