|~ Freaky Fred|
Freaky Fred is a character in the Cartoon Network animated series Courage the Cowardly Dog. He is a mentally ill, but surprisingly harmless barber whose entire goal of visiting the Nowhere home, other than seeing his dear aunt Muriel and her grumpy husband Eustace, is to shave Muriel's pet dog, Courage. Though, it is unknown if he was even aware of Courage's existence before he arrived at the farmhouse. He speaks in an eerie, yet polite tone with an English accent. He always acts pleasantly and never yells or gets angry.
He was voiced by Paul Schoeffler.
In the past, Freaky Fred has shaved many unwilling people and animals due to his disorder, trichotemnomania. Previous victims include, a man that visited his barber shop, his pet hamster (the first of his victims), and even his ex-girlfriend Barbara. Such acts resulted in his "enrollment" in the Institute for Freaky Barbers.
Though he is considered a villain, he never really hurts anyone. The only time he was truly aggressive was when he force-fed Courage pancakes.
Fred makes his first appearance in the episode of the same name where he pays a visit to the Bagges and Courage. After being locked in a bathroom with the dog, he starts shaving Courage until only hair on his tail and the message saying "With Love, Fred" remain. The asylum police then arrive and take Fred away while he says a goodbye through his thoughts.
Fred later makes a cameo appearance in the episode Ball of Revenge when he is seen on TV after Courage turns it on. He holds up a razor and says "Courage..." while doing his signature smile, causing Courage to scream in horror.
