Freddie Lang is an antagonist in Fallout 76. She is the former leader of the Blackwater Bandits, one of the five Raider factions in Appalachia.
Biography[]
Freddie Lang had gone on a skiing trip to Appalachia when the Great War/World War III broke out. Stuck in Appalachia with nowhere else to go, Freddie joined David Thorpe and the Raiders, becoming the leader of the Blackwater Bandits faction, based out of the Blackwater Mine near the Whitespring Resort, a U.S. Department of Energy uranium mine, known for their stealth, such as stealing mini nukes from the Brotherhood of Steel. However, not fully trusting of her gang, she used the former mine foreman's terminal as a journal to write her thoughts in.
However, one of her gang, Rob, messed with the uranium extractors that were used to bring the uranium from deep underground up to the mine to be processed. As a result of his drunken maintenance on the extractors, he unknowingly released a dangerous level of radiation from the uranium into the mine. Not realizing the threat, Freddie had the mini nukes the Blackwater Bandits stole traded to Thorpe and his Cutthroats for chems to deal with the effects of the so-called "illness".
By 2096, when Freddie went to the Top of the World to meet with Thorpe, she did not look like her normal self due to acute radiation sickness. With continued exposure to the uranium's radiation, most of the Blackwater Bandits died from radiation sickness or were turned into feral ghouls. Freddie herself soaked up so much radiation that she was turned into a bloated glowing one feral ghoul. She remained that way until visited by a resident of Vault 76 under orders from Rose to kill her to attain her key fragment to a supply cache under the Pleasant Valley Ski Resort carrying what the resident was looking for to help out the Responders and Free States regarding the Scorchbeasts.
