Due to her son Timmy's growing interest in Freddy's, Sylvia decided to order online a Freddy hollow head for him. The mask arrives in a battered box with a weird smell, and after Sylvia gives it to Timmy the young boy invites his friends to sing alongside him, pretending to be Bonnie and Chica while he plays the role of Freddy. Sylvia at first is proud of herself for having made her son proud and thinks his interest with Freddy's will go away with time. Later that night, Sylvia hears screams coming from Timothy's room, but when she goes there she finds nothing. The next day, Timmy starts ominously talking about the Freddy's murders in great details, mentioning how the children killed were lined up against the wall. Sylvia is weirded out when she finds out Timmy's tastes started to change and when later she finds Timmy talking to a shadow. Timmy even goes as far as attacking his grandfather when he sees him with a knife, saying he had to "protect the others". At night, Timmy is lured away by a shadowy figure. Sylvia follows her, but is stopped by a man who presents himself as Mike, and asserts that he works at the nearest Freddy Fazbear's Pizza and that Freddy's mask was recently stolen. Mike thinks the mask Sylvia bought was precisely the one stolen from Freddy's, and that it somehow harmed Timmy. The two go to Freddy's, where they find Timmy on stage alongside Bonnie and Chica. Sylvia is strangled by black and white striped tentacles which come out of the walls, but Mike manages to stop the attack by puting Freddy's mask back on Timmy. The Puppet then discends from the ceiling and approaches Timmy, but Mike manages to protect him. The actual Freddy then walks on stage and puts his head back on, becoming whole again and taking his place on stage. As they drive back home, Mike explains that he thinks something was alive inside the Freddy's head, and that it entered inside Timmy when he put on the mask. Following this events, Timmy returns to act like his usual self.
Freddy shows an aggressive behavior towards adult people, thinking they are his killer. As a kid, he seems pretty shy and introvert, not even talking with Carlton when he meets him.
