Fredo Garcia is the main antagonist of the Law & Order: Special Victims Unit episode "Protection". Garcia is a violent drug dealer and the abuser of his girlfriend Maria Ramos and her two sons. When they're witnesses against him for the murder of a rival dealer, Garcia sets out to kill them through his hitman, Eddie Fuentes.
He was portrayed by Louie Leonardo.
Biography[]
Garcia was violently abusing to Maria and her sons Luis and Miguel. Well known also to the police as a dangerous drug runner, he tortured and murder Joey Stapleton. Maria was terrified for herself and her family, so she fled. When Garcia found this out, he sent Fuentes to shoot them all, but he only shot and injured Miguel. Maria fled with Luis and hoped to retrieve Miguel later out of fear of police finding them, but Fuentes snuck into Miguel's hospital room and smothered him with his bed's pillow. Maria was devastated, but she and Luis kept running until police put them in protective custody. Fuentes narrowly killed the Ramoses in a shootout with police in a church, only shooting Maria's arm before he was incapacitated and arrested. With Fuentes turning state's evidence against Garcia, the case was solid, but Maria was so terrified Garcia would still kill her and Luis, she shot his legs and planned to kill him. The detectives on the case stopped her and promised her witness protection and that they'd ensure Garcia would die in prison. Maria surrendered and got immunity, being transferred out of state with Luis. Garcia was found guilty and either imprisoned for life or executed for his crimes.
Trivia[]
