Free Erusea is an organization featured in the Ace Combat series, serving as the main antagonists of the arcade mode of Ace Combat 5: The Unsung War and VR mode of Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown, as well as an overarching antagonists in the latter game's campaign mode. They are a group of Erusean military personnel who refused to accept their country's defeat in the Continental War and started an insurgency against the ISAF forces.

The Unsung War[]
After Erusea's defeat in the Continental War, ISAF forces occupied the country and an interim government was installed by them to turn the nation pacifistic. While most of Erusean military personnel accepted the regime change, several hardliners saw this as disgraceful to the nation and formed a rebel group named "Free Erusea". Free Erusea took over an IUN base and used its resources to wage war against Erusean interim government and ISAF. To defeat them, ISAF deployed their renowned ace pilot Mobius 1 and AWACS SkyEye. With the latter's assistance, the former put an end to the rebellion, allowing the transitional government to be estabilished in Erusea.
Skies Unknown[]
In 2014, Free Erusea resurfaced and built up its forces to the point where it was seen as a global threat. Mobius 1 and his Mobius Squadron, now part of the IUN peacekeeping forces, were deployed to combat the insurgents, who were defeated once again.
In 2019, during the Lighthouse War, Free Erusea emerged for the third time as one of the splinter factions of the Erusean army spawned by the chaos following the destruction of the Earth's satellite network. As of 2020, it was still active, operating in northern Erusea.
