Friar is a minor antagonist in the Ukrainian FPS Survival Horror video game S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl.

Friar is wandering bandit-master, originally member of Borov's Gang.

Personality[]

Friar is thrill-seeking, delusional and a narcissistic thug who thinks of himself as a "badass supervillain" and Imitates characters from popular comics of the 60s, calling himself different alias to be more like a "supervillain".

Despite his attempts to be intimidating and his great experience, 2 years in the Zone is not a joke, no one really takes him seriously, considering him as just an "egoistical idiot" which deeply angers him.

Appearance[]

Friar wears a regular bandit trench coat with a turtle-neck inner jacket and a ski mask that covers his face, popular among experienced bandits.

Biography[]

Friar, unlike other bandits, came for the Zone not to escape the law, but for thrill. Friar came to the Zone in 2010, 2 years before the events of the game. It's unknown what Friar did all those two years in the Zone, but at some point he joined Borov's Gang in the Dark Valley. In the Dark Valley, Friar found a unique rifle that certain Dutyer lost there after their failed assault.

After his kingpin's, Borov's death, he alongside Poker left the Dark Valley to escape the Military's extermination. That same Duty member, Brome, asked Mechenyj to bring his rifle back, since it's a very important gun for him. Eventually, Mechenyj found the rifle in Friar's hands and brought it back to Brome, killing Friar in the process.

Powers & Skills[]

  • Assault Rifle Skills: Friar posses a unique "Obokan" assault rifle, named the Storming Obokan, which has better reliability and automatic a integral grenade launcher.
    • Grenade Launcher Aptitude: The Storming Obokan has a internal grenade launcher, which Friar can use in a fight.
