The Frobots are supporting antagonists of the Disney Channel/Disney XD series Amphibia. They are the robotic army of King Andrias,

Appearance[]

The Frobots are mechanical entities resembling frogs geared for combat.

Standard Model[]

First seen in the season 2 finale "True Colors"; They are very tall, have glowing red eyes, enormous shoulder pads, long arms, skinny legs, mouths that are sometimes covered by metal plates, a frog foot symbol on their chests, and a black paint job. Each have built in laser rifles on their right arms and all have jetpacks that allow them to fly.

Cloak-Bot[]

First seen in the season 3 intro sneak peek; this type is lanky and thin to quickly maneuver in urban areas and have razor sharp claws. In its debut episode, it's also revealed to have a cloaking device. One was sent to eliminate Anne and the Plantars, but was ultimately destroyed.

Giant Frobot[]

First seen in the season 3 intro sneak peek; this type is made to be enormous with destructive power, another being able to launch more robotic reinforcements.

The Fire Frobots[]

Appear in the episode "The Root of Evil"; this type have flamethrowers attached to their right arm. They resemble the Standard Model, but with a red paint job, blue eyes, and what seemed to be a like a tank of gasoline behind their back.

The Judge Frobot[]

Appear in the episode "Newts in Tights"; this type takes on a classic judge appearance with a robe, a white wig that is loaded with missiles, a court desk with Andrias' crown logo on it, a gavel in its hand, and noticeable redness on it cheeks. When in combat, its desk unfolds and turns into a pair of legs, it eyes turn red, it has longer arms with big hands and fuses two gavels together to make a big mallet.

The Watering Can Frobot[]

Only appearing in the final episode "The Hardest Thing"; this tiny model resembles a watering can with a green handle, a green Frobot head and legs, and yellow eyes. One of the few non-combat Frobot models, it is used for watering plants.

Biography[]

Past[]

In King Andrias' flashback Newtopia was a lot more technologically advanced one thousand years ago, with Frobots as some defensive or offensive force, but when the Calamity Box was stolen, their technology disappeared and was eventually forgotten by the inhabitants of Amphibia.

Amphibia[]

Once King Andrias got the mystical music box back, he sent out a signal that reactivated ancient factories known as "The Ruins of Despair" that started build numerous Frog-Bots that flew to their master's flying castle. Once they arrived, they surrounded Anne Boonchuy and her allies. Now that King Andrias has the music box back, he tells everyone he will return Newtopia to its former self, as not as a city of knowledge, but as a feared conquering empire. As the battle continues, many Frog-Bots were destroyed by Anne, Sasha Waybright, Marcy Wu, The Planter Family, General Yunan, Captain Grime, and a good Frobot named Frobo.

When Anne awakens the power of the blue gemstone within her, she destroyed the remaining Frog-Bots in the castle while simultaneously knocking the wind out of King Andrias.

The Season 3 intro sneak peek shows that there are several more Frog-Bots that have been built and in various other models.

In "The New Normal", the Frobots are seen guarding the flying castle while a newly built silver model with the ability to cloak itself is sent to though a dimensional portal to terminate the main obstacle in Andrias' invasion of Earth: Anne Boonchuy. In "Turning Point", Andrias sends one to track down Sasha Waybright and Captain Grime after they escape, only to be destroyed when it finds them in Wartwood. However, it signaled for reinforcements before Grime destroyed it, resulting in Andrias sending an enormous bronze model that has smaller green models that it can deploy from its body to Wartwood to obliterate Sasha Waybright, Captain Grime, and the town's citizens, only to be destroyed.

In "Froggy Little Christmas" some Newtopian officials build a bug like drone for King Andrias to personal control and kill Anne himself. It even manages to take control of a giant Santa float to try and kill Anne along with her parents and the Plantars during a annual Christmas parade. But they manage to defeat it by blowing a Christmas tree into it's mouth.

In "Commander Anne", it is revealed that the Frobots have expanded operations to Wartwood, capturing its megafauna and mind-controlling them with special collars to attack those who opposed Andrias. Additionally, in "Sprivy", they have set up a facility with a laser to prevent the resistance from entering the town (who eventually destroy it), and in "Fight or Flight", some capture a Kill-a-Moth pack led by a redeemed Domino 2 to generate power for Andrias' forces.

In "The Beginning of the End", the Frobots battle the resistance, during which many of them are destroyed, after which they take flight after Andrias opens the portal on Darcy's orders. In "All In", the Frobots invade Earth to fight the U.S. army, during which many are destroyed; by the time the invasion is stopped, most of the Frobots back on Amphibia have been destroyed by the resistance. In "The Hardest Thing", Andrias sends the remaining Frobots to help the girls push back the Core-controlled moon, but the evil mind hive destroys most if not all of them before Anne destroys it and the moon with the full power of the Calamity gems. A watering can Frobot is seen helping Andrias restore the land nine months after the Core's reign of terror is stopped. It's possible some Frobots are still roaming Amphibia, but it's unknown what became of them.

Trivia[]

  • The army bots were inspired by the Laputian Robots in Castle in the Sky.
  • Their name were confirmed to be Frobots in the episode "Anne-sterminator"
  • The Frobots are hilariously weak as they can be easily destroyed using swords and arrows. Furthermore, despite arming with laser cannons, their weapon barely scratch Earth tanks.
