The Frost King is a major antagonist in the 2008 indie game Castle Crashers. He is one of the Evil Wizard's top henchmen.
Biography[]
The Frost King first appears in the level "Tall Grass Field" where he and the Cyclops abduct two of the four princesses that were kidnapped from the castle; the Cyclops departs with the Green Princess while the Frost King teleports away with the Blue Princess. He is not seen again until the level "Industrial Castle" after the knights defeat the Industrial Prince, they gaze through a telescope at Ice Castle to see the Blue Princess on the balcony, calling for help. The Frost King becomes aware of being spied on and drags Blue Princess inside.
In "Snow World", upon reaching the Ice Castle, the Frost King sends his Iceskimos after the knights to stop their process. Inside the Ice Castle, the Frost King briefly appears holding the Blue Princess to taunt the knights before appearing at the end of a long narrow bridge with three Iceskimos to shoot arrows and ice magic at the players. The knights must block the arrows and jump over the ice magic to advance. Upon reaching the other side, the Frost King retreats to his chamber. Defeat the Iceskimos and proceed to the Frost King's chamber.
The Frost King attacks by causing ice shards to emerge through the ground either in lines or at random places across the arena. He can also summon large icicles to fall from the ceiling and crush the knights. During this attack, he may stop to laugh at the knights or build up his next attack. When his health is low, he charges his magic much faster and causes the icicles to fall more rapidly. Once the Frost King is defeated, he freezes in place and can only scream in agony as his body is completely covered in ice. A boss chest then crushes his frozen body and the Blue Princess will be saved.
Appearance[]
The Frost King is a lanky sky blue humanoid with two red eyes, blue fur on his shoulders, and a mass of ice on top of his head resembling a crown. He wears a purple royal uniform with a violet cape, black pants, and gray snow boots.

- The Yeti animal orb is very helpful for the Frost King's boss as it both increases the player's ice resistance and prevents them from being frozen.
- The Frost King is the last major boss to be fought before the final four bosses in Wizard Castle.
- In Insane Mode, the Frost King has 50,000 health, which is the most health of any boss in the game.
- Defeating the Frost King with the Iceskimo playable character unlocks the achievement "The Traitor".
