|“||Due to the massive success and, even more so, the unfortunate closing of Freddy Fazbear's Pizza, it was clear that the stage was set (no pun intended) for another contender in children's entertainment. Unlike most entertainment venues, our robotic entertainers are rented out for private parties during the day, and it's your job to get the robots back in proper working order before the following morning.||„|
|~ HandUnit telling Michael Afton about the Funtimes' creation and purposes.|
The Funtime Animatronics are major antagonists of the Five Nights at Freddy's franchise, serving as the main antagonists of Five Nights at Freddy's: Sister Location, the secondary antagonists of Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria Simulator (as both Scrap Baby and Molten Freddy), and posthumous antagonists of Five Nights at Freddy's VR: Help Wanted, Five Nights at Freddy's AR: Special Delivery, and Five Nights at Freddy's: Security Breach.
They are a plethora of animatronic entertainers created by William Afton and owned by Afton Robotics, LLC as part of Circus Baby's Entertainment & Rental, in which they are rented out to perform at various parties across the area. Unbeknownst to many, William constructed them with mechanisms that allowed them to kidnap and kill any children at those parties before bringing their corpses to William so he could experiment on them.
Eventually, the combined main four Funtimes escaped their location by inhabiting Michael Afton's body until it decomposed. Afterwards, the animatronics' leader, Circus Baby, was evicted from the amalgamation, although all four would eventually be reunited as they were incinerated by Henry Emily, apparently leaving Funtime Freddy as the only remaining active Funtime (excluding duplicates made by the Fazbear Funtime Service).
The Funtime Animatronics are all high-tech, artificially intelligent animatronics with a clownish aesthetic created by William Afton which are equipped with modifications for audience entertainment, such as ice cream dispensers, song databanks and aromas producers, as well as that modifications that allow them to capture and kill children, such as illusionary technology, storage tanks, and claws. The four main animatronics, as well as Music Man, Lolbit (in Five Nights at Freddy's VR: Help Wanted) and Funtime Chica, are built with wire endoskeletons covered by shiny metal exoskeletons with white and blue/pink color schemes. The main four's heads are also quarterly separated into face plates and have two colored blush marks on each side of their faces, as well as eyebrows of various colors. The rest of the animatronics (particularly the Bidybabs and Minireenas) are miniature animatronics with more humanoid designs, as well as skin-colored plates alongside their white exoskeletons.
Upon combining, the main four become an amalgamation of wires and eyeballs that continue to contain the animatronics' AI. Able to change into various forms and appearances, they take at least two forms: as Ennard, they domineered by Circus Baby and are an upright humanoid with a clown mask for a face, also temporarily inhabiting Michael Afton corpse until it decomposes, and as Molten Freddy, they are lead by Funtime Freddy, have lost their structure, and wear a rusty metal bear mask. Funtime Freddy continues to lead the amalgamation as it combines with the remains of other Fazbear animatronics and becomes the Blob.
The Funtime Animatronics are commonly assumed to have been built sometime before 1983 by either William Afton (as part of Afton Robotics, LLC) or Henry Emily. They were set to be the mascots of Circus Baby's Pizza World, an offshoot of Freddy Fazbear's Pizza and its numerous affiliates. William secretly modified the animatronics to include apparatus that would allow for them to kidnap and kill any children in the pizzeria in order to experiment on their corpses for remnant. At some point, Funtime Chica and Music Man somehow found themselves in the Rare Finds Auction as 2/3 of the "Posh Pizzeria" trio, alongside El Chip.
William's daughter, Elizabeth, was amazed by the Funtimes, particularly Circus Baby, and wanted to see her like the other children could, but was forbidden by her father (likely because of their true intentions). One day, when Afton wasn't looking, Elizabeth snuck into the pizzeria and came face to face with Baby, who gave her an ice cream. However, upon picking it up, Elizabeth was grabbed by Baby's claw and pulled into the animatronic, killing her and causing her spirit to inhabit the animatronic. Afton covered up this incident by closing Circus Baby's Pizza World under the pretense of a "gas leak", hiding the Funtimes in the location under his house for years. During this period, Afton is implied to have infused them with remnant from the Missing Children, his victims at Freddy Fazbear's Pizza.
Eventually, following the closure of Fazbear Entertainment around 1993, Afton opened Circus Baby's Entertainment & Rental, a standalone service where the Funtimes are rented out to perform at numerous events within the vicinity, particularly children's birthday parties. At those events, they would use their modifications to swiftly and stealthily abduct at least one child and trap them inside Funtime Freddy's storage tank, where they were likely killed inside, before bringing their corpse back to the underground location for Afton to experiment on them.
Within the location, each Funtime was situated in their own rooms, with Baby and the Bidybabs in Circus Gallery, Ballora and the Minireenas in Ballora Gallery, and Funtime Foxy, Funtime Freddy, Bon-Bon, and Yenndo in Funtime Auditorium (though Freddy and Bon-Bon apparently preferred to hide in the Breaker Room), with each room being reached through the Primary Control Module. Whenever the animatronics would malfunction during a party, they would be taken to the Scooping Room, where their endoskeletons were removed via the Scooper. Elsewhere, Afton monitored the Funtimes in the location's private surveillance room (from which he also remotely voiced his youngest son's teddy bear).
Around the time of Afton's death, his oldest son, Michael, applied for a job as a technician and nightguard at Circus Baby's Entertainment & Rental. There, the majority of the Funtimes attacked him during his jobs, except for Baby, who guided her brother safely through his work week. On the last day of his work week, Baby, Ballora, Foxy, and Freddy all had their endoskeletons scooped out and combined their bodies into an amalgamation named Ennard. They then tricked Michael into coming into the Scooping Room, where they fatally scooped out his organs, leaving his corpse a disemboweled husk which Ennard inhabited to escape into the outside.
Eventually, Michael's corpse decomposed, forcing Ennard to leave it in the streets where he was inexplicably resurrected (likely due to the remnant infused in his body by the Scooper). The other Funtimes were fed up with Baby bossing them around, so they evicted her from Ennard as Freddy took its helm and it became Molten Freddy. A few years afterwards, they were lured to Freddy Fazbear's Pizza Place (coincidentally where Funtime Chica and Music Man could be purchased to perform at). There, they attempted to kill Michael with the help of Afton, Baby, and the Puppet. However, their efforts proved fruitless as Henry Emily, the pizzeria's creator, Afton's former best friend, and the father of the Puppet's possessor, burned the entire pizzeria to the ground. Somehow Molten Freddy was able to survive, by assimilating the other nearby animatronics into their body. However, it is implied that by doing this, they went completely insane.
The mascot of Fazbear Entertainment/Afton Robotics, LLC's Funtime franchise and the main animatronic of the group, she is a clownish animatronic who sings songs, inflates balloons, and dispenses ice cream. She also secretly harbors a scoop to grab and kill any nearby children. She is possess by Elizabeth Afton, the daughter of William Afton.
A feminine ballerina animatronic that often dances in a near-constant spin. She and her Minireenas lurk Ballora Gallery as she sings a song about an empty room. She is speculated to be based on, represent, or even be possessed by the spirit of William's unnamed wife. She also appears as the main antagonist of the Fazbear Frights story, "Dance With Me".
Based on both Freddy Fazbear and Bonnie the Bunny, they are a duo consisting of a sadistic bear animatronic and his more reasonable rabbit hand puppet. Freddy is easily the most dangerous of the Funtimes and includes a storage tank where he keeps abducted children. He is speculated to be possessed by either a child he killed in the past or one of, if not all five, of the Missing Children. He also appears as the main antagonist of the Fazbear Frights story, "Count the Ways".
Based on Foxy the Pirate, it is an extravagant fox animatronic of ambiguous gender that hunts for nightguards in Funtime Auditorium, although they can be temporarily disabled by the auditorium's strobe light. Like Freddy, they are speculated to be possessed by either a past dead child or one of the Missing Children. They also appear as a cameo character in the Fazbear Frights story, "Room for One More".
A narcissistic chicken animatronic based on Chica the Chicken that carries a threatening cupcake on a dish. She debuts in Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria Simulator as one of the three animatronics that must be bought and displayed in Freddy Fazbear's Pizza Place to receive the "Posh Pizzeria" achievement. She later reappears in Ultimate Custom Night as an enemy, where she disorientates the player by flashing them with cameras.
An odd spider animatronic carrying a pair of cymbals that he enthusiastically crashes together. He debuts in Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria Simulator as one of the three animatronics that must be bought and displayed in Freddy Fazbear's Pizza Place to receive the "Posh Pizzeria" achievement.
A mysterious bear animatronic endoskeleton that occasionally lurks Funtime Auditorium alongside Foxy. He appears more prominently as a threat in Sister Location's Custom Night mode.
Small babyish animatronics that accompany Circus Baby in Circus Gallery. They are able to sneak into the gallery's control module to kill any nightguards.
Small doll-esque ballerina animatronics that accompany Ballora in Ballora Gallery. Their small size allows them to enter places like springlock animatronics and even helps them escape to Michael Afton's house.
A white fox animatronic closely resembling Funtime Foxy who's head replaces Ennard's mask in the Primary Control Module at rare times. It appears more prominently as a threat in Sister Location's Custom Night mode and cameo's in Funtime Foxy's levels in Five Nights at Freddy's VR: Help Wanted.
A pink rabbit hand puppet that serves as Bon-Bon's female counterpart. She appears in Sister Location's Custom Night mode, Ultimate Custom Night, and Funtime Freddy's levels in Five Nights at Freddy's VR: Help Wanted.
A variant of the Bidybabs that is able to drain Michael's office power. It only appears in Sister Location's non-canon Custom Night mode, making it a completely non-canonical character.
Baby's counterpart in the Novel Trilogy. She is the "adult" robot of Charlie who is possessed by William Afton's daughter, Elizabeth. She uses audio-illusion discs to change her appearance to resemble Charlie and fool her friends.
Funtime Freddy's counterpart in the Novel Trilogy. He is a vicious bear animatronic powered by the Missing Children's remnant to do Afton's bidding. Unlike his game counterpart, he lacks Bon-Bon as his ally.
Funtime Foxy and Mangle's counterpart in the Novel Trilogy. It is a massive, mismatched fox animatronic that powered by the Missing Children's remnant to do Afton's bidding.
Small clownish robots that lurk throughout Circus Baby's Pizzeria at night.
A feminine robot and the series' counterpart to Baby. She is infused with agony and has been causing chaos for three decades by masterminding paranormal events to kill humans and receive power from their suffering.
A chibi version of Funtime Freddy who serves as the player's guide in Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria Simulator. He commonly appears dancing on the catalog page, testing the minigames, settling lawsuits that Michael receives, and as an inanimate toy in Freddy Fazbear's Pizza Place's security office. He appears in later games, firstly as an enemy in Ultimate Custom Night, where he will non-lethally jumpscare the player if he's not clicked, before later essentially serving as the mascot of Fazbear Entertainment in the Steel Wool era.
A successor to the Puppet with a similar design and aesthetic to that of the Funtimes. It can be purchased in Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria Simulator, where interacting it will allow you to play a minigame that details the events of Charlotte Emily's death.
