Bobo the Clown, better known as GRP-239, is a Neutralized (formerly Beta-Red) GRP and a minor antagonist of the RPC Authority mythos' alternate canon Cosmic Embers. Unlike its counterpart from the main canon, GRP-239 is not a puppet possessed by a human serial killer but a robot created by an alien cult in the attempt to brainwash and convert humans.
Personality[]
GRP-239 is an extremely defective machine, acting and speaking randomly most of the times.
It seems extremely afraid of its creators, to the point of preferring to self-destruct rather than being destroyed by them.
Biography[]
GRP-239 was created by the cult known as "Disciples of Karne" with the purpose of brainwashing humans and convert them.
GRP-239 proceeded to crash land into the central hanger bay of the Autonomous Space Port Ship "Beehive" (the remains of Salt Lake City); due to its defective nature, however, instead of converting them, GRP-239 caused madness via its mind-controlling sound, causing all affected humans to become violent and murderous. When some Rangers arrived on the place, they were forced to kill 27 rioters (leaving the total casualty count of 50 humans, 25 Kymen, 25 Slyth and 50 Bakeneko) before finding GRP-239 itself inside a building, standing next to a human corpse and unsuccessfully attempting to fit the latter's head inside a blender. GRP-239 proceeded to attack the Rangers, killing 10 of them before deactivating after receiving enough damage.
GRP-239 was transported to Station-005 and reactivated itself while various GRPC scientists attempted to study it, emitting its anomalous frequency and causing two human researchers to go insane (although the two were fortunately restrained by alien colleagues). GRP-239 was then put into a containment chamber, where it kept emitting its anomalous sound nonstop, aimlessly wandering around its chamber and never attempting to escape.
After some time, GRP-239 stopped emitting its sound and sat in a corner of its cell, ceasing any hostile behavior. Since even before GRP-239 showed to be less hostile towards androids, various interviews were attempted via them, although only one was successful: in said interview GRP-239 accidentally revealed its creators' identities and, deciding to not want them to get him alive nor give further informations to the GRPC, destroyed itself via an explosion.
