Biography[]

Gabriel is an archangel in heaven and the brother of Michael; they both serve God.

When God tasks Michael to kill the baby of Charlie, he disobeys the order and was banished from heaven; Gabriel is thereupon given the task himself. Gabriel sends the angels to destroy mankind, while Michael came across the diner to protect Charlie and her husband Jeep along with their group members - consisting of Charlie's friend Audrey, her mother Sandra, and Jeep's father Bob as well as others - from the angels.

After many angels were slaughtered, during which Bob kills Sandra for trying to give up Charlie's newborn baby, Gabriel came down to face Michael himself. Immediately upon arrival, Gabriel attacks the group and fatally wounds Bob when the latter attempts to stop him. However, Michael helps the others escape after telling Jeep to find the prophets and follow the instructions.

Once Michael and Garbiel are alone, they talk as Michael attempts to convince Gabriel to stop by saying "That's enough. There is another way". But Gabriel responds there isn't and Michael, knowing that Gabriel is determined to complete God's task at all costs, reluctantly gets ready to fight him. The two brothers then fight, which ends with Gabriel seemingly killing Michael after stabbing the latter's chest with his morning star.

Shortly after Michael's supposed death, the dying Bob uses a lighter to blow up the diner in an attempt to kill Gabriel; the resulting explosion kills Bob, but unfortunately Gabriel survives as he flies away and persues Jeep and Charlie in their car. He eventually lands in their car and attempts to kill them until the cars swerves and crashes, which kills Audrey as a result. Charlie and Jeep run to the top of the mountain where Gabriel eventually corners them. Gabriel prepares to kill them when Michael suddenly descends from Heaven, healed and restored to the rank of Archangel. This horrifies Gabriel, who questions how this happened when Michael had disobeyed earlier on. Michael responds that while Gabriel had given God what He asked for, Michael had given God what He needed; giving humanity another chance.

Enraged, Gabriel attempts to attack Michael - but is swiftly defeated by the latter. Gabriel then urges Michael to finish him off, but Michael refuses and reveals that this was God's plan to test his angels due to believing they had become blind in their loyalty; and because Gabriel had continued to blindly obey God from start to finish, Gabriel has ultimately failed Him in the end. Gabriel reacts ashamedly to this revelation and flies away back to Heaven. Michael soon flies back as well after telling Jeep and Charlie to "Have faith".
