Gabriel Harris also simply known as Gabe, is an antagonist and survivor from Image Comics’ post-apocalyptic horror comic, The Walking Dead. He was a close lieutenant and righthand for the The Governor, residing in the small community of Woodbury. Gabe was one of the Governor’s most loyal allies, assisting him with his frequent atrocities.
Appearance[]
Gabriel was a middle-aged Caucasian man of average height. He was shown to have an overweight build, with a large stomach and a “stevedore’s barrel” chest that bulged out of his black turtleneck sweater. He had a round bulky face, a wide nose, and a thick “wrestler’s” neck. He had light blond hair which was shaved in an old-school short flattop.
Personality[]
Gabriel was shown to be a hostile yet loyal associate of the Governor. Willing to commit numerous acts of brutality if it meant satisfying his boss and keeping himself in the Governor’s social circle. Gabe was usually cruel to his enemies, angrily insulting Glenn, whom Gabe and Bruce kept in solitary confinement, and later on forced him to hear Michonne being raped by the Governor for information, which shows the extremities of what Gabe and his allies can be capable of. Gabe, furthermore, portrayed himself as having a cold and stoic aura, usually keeping quiet while the Governor interrogates people and only decides to talk or act if his boss tells him to, making Gabe follow his boss’ orders without much question.
However, Gabe was shown to be capable of more intelligence than the simple obeying pawn which he often portrays himself as. Because compared to Bruce, Gabe can be more dubious regarding some of the Governor’s decisions from a logical perspective. Such as when he pointed out that the Woodbury soldiers are bad shots whose bullets were being wasted, making the Governor try another strategy. Despite all this, Gabe’s more commonly seen angry nature made many of his personal non ordered decisions seem unwary.

Rise of the Governor[]
Gabe was first seen constructing parts of the barricade surrounding Woodbury with Bruce Cooper. Gabe notices Brian Blake and his group approaching them. Gabe jumps off a bulldozer, grabs a shotgun, and walks over to the newcomers with Bruce. Gabe asks Philip Blake if he carries any weapons, which he carefully shows to Gabe and Bruce. Gabe continues to ask questions to Philip, if they are from Atlanta, if they had seen any National Guardsmen, or if they have any food or cigarettes. Philip, however, gives no response that is to any interest for Gabe. It is quickly made clear by Bruce that he and Gabe don't really care what Brian and his group want to do in Woodbury, as there is no proper leadership and communication in the town whatsoever. Therefore, Brian, Philip, and Nick are let in.
