When Gabriel and Hilary guide the Bowers to the kitchen, Judy notices a collection of dolls in the den and is amazed by it, but Gabriel tells her that they need to eat first before starting a tour of the house, making one of the dolls smile. Judy hears giggling from a room with a closed door and asks Judy what's the matter and she shrugs it off as her imagination.
At dinnertime, the Hartwickes and Bowes introduce each other where Gabriel says he is a toy maker who makes dolls, puppets and soldiers but notices Judy doesn't have a doll and that a girl without a doll is incomplete. Judy tries to tell Gabriel that Rosemary threw Teddy into the forest, but couldn't because if she did, she would kill her. Although Gabriel can't replace Teddy, he gives Judy a doll, named Mr. Punch and becomes friends with him. Another group of people burst through the kitchen's back door, two motorists named Isabel Prange and Enid and a man named Ralph Morris, who claimed the girls were hitchhiking and that he picked them up, but they disagreed. As the Hartwickes and Bowers introduce each other, Judy introduces Mr. Punch to Ralph and he says he hasn't seen a Punch doll since he was a kid.
