Monster Hunter: World introduces the Gajalaka, who are Lynians. The Ancient Forest, Wildspire Waste, Coral Highlands, Elder's Recess, and the Caverns of El Dorado are home to these tribes. When you go near to them, they turn hostile right away. Hunters can obtain advantages from the tribe, such tailriders, shortcuts, and the Palico device Mewlotov Cocktail, by accepting tasks from the Lynian Researcher. They are the only Lynian tribe in the New World under the control of the Gajalaka Chief, a larger and more powerful leader.

Physiology[]

The Gajalaka are short humanoids, just like many Lynians. Like Jawas, they have no fur and wear big tribal masks that only reveal their bright yellow eyes, making them more like Shakalaka than Felynes or Grimalkynes. The various color accents on these red masks—which range from blue to yellow to purple—reflect the various status ailments that their weapons inflict. Golden masks are worn by the Gajalaka in the Caverns of El Dorado.

The Gajalaka Chief has golwing yellow marks on his torso and resembles a giant Gajalaka. The King is dressed in a large red mask with long white mustaches and a crown made of metal items, including a candelabra and several pots, placed atop his head. His weapon is a broken steering wheel.

Behavior[]

The Gajalaka will use status-affecting weapons to attack if they feel threatened and are hostile against hunters and huge monsters. Sleep, paralysis, and poisoning can be dealt with by the Gajalaka to both players and huge monsters. The color of the accents on their masks distinguishes these; purple denotes poison, yellow paralysis, and blue sleep. It is possible for Gakalaka to unintentionally poison one another if they are engaged in combat.

The Gajalaka will assist the hunters in their hunts if they are located and hired in the Lynian Expert questline. But only some of them will. Similar to the Grimalkyne Ivy Trap, the Gajalaka can also be helpful, but instead of capturing a monster, they use weapons that resemble bazookas to strike it, doing it significant damage.

When compared to regular Gajalakas, the Gajalaka Chief has superior fighting abilities. He has an angry mode and a quick succession of weapon attacks in his moveset. His battle is similar to that of the King Shakalaka, another ancient monster.
